  1. That and the fact he got sent aff!
  2. The late great John Martyn (singer-songwriter) spoke like that too. I believe his upbringing was also split between Glasgow and London...
  3. What has happened to Scottish centre halfs? Do boys teams not play anyone in that position?...
  4. My auntie used to go from broad Ayrshire to Cheshire in the same breath if she was in a group including her English parents...
  5. Problem on Monday was their big guys were still better than us on the deck. Well maybe not Boateng!
  6. He's not actually that bad. His panel show on Radio Scotland is quite funny (by Comedy Unit standards)...
  7. I'm guessing "toys oot the pram"?...
  8. If we draw with Poland and Ireland draw with Germany we're oot! I suppose that's a nightmare scenario too....
  9. Aye his views here seem sympathetic to the TAMB consensus...
  10. 40,000 empty seats v Georgia and Gibraltar suggests otherwise. Even the England game didn't sell out...
  11. Must've just missed it, got in with 10 mins to go. He did it at HT v Iceland a few years back and it was stunning...
  12. How do you define over/under rated? Commercial success? Critical acclaim? eg. Simple Minds sold millions but were panned by the critics (save for some of their earlier records)...
  13. Despite qualifying for 5 World Cups the 70s and 80s featured some dire campaigns in the Euros. The stat that sticks out for me is the 90s defensive record. 9 defeats in 50 games! Craig Brown especially made us very hard to beat.
  14. Aye, qualifiers only (inc. play offs). Interesting to note the number of games doubled from the 70s to 90s...
  15. Our 90s form really was tremendous, appreciate the were a lot of new countries who were of a lower standard then but still we got the job done more often than not...
  16. They seem to finally have a team again after years in the wilderness...
  17. Woohoo! Stat project, love it love it love it Good work, I decided to take the analysis back a bit further:- 1990s Home Win: 72% (18/25) Home Draw: 20% (5/25) Home Loss: 8% (2/25) Away Win: 40% (10/25) Away Draw: 32% (8/25) Away Loss: 28% (7/25) 1980s Home Win: 55% (11/20) Home Draw: 35% (7/20) Home Loss: 10% (2/20) Away Win: 32% (6/19) Away Draw: 26% (5/19) Away Loss: 42% (8/19) 1970s Home Win: 69% (9/13) Home Draw: 15% (2/13) Home Loss: 15% (2/13) Away Win: 31% (4/14) Away Draw: 15% (2/14) Away Loss: 62% (8/14)
  18. That's a given. If Poland beat us Ireland will be in the play-off even if they get no more points...
  19. If that's the table to be used we must stand a decent chance of jumping into the seeds, given that we need to win games to finish 3rd?...
  20. What other options have we up front? Is Tony Watt taking the step up a possibility?...
  21. Aye but it'd be the veritable dug's chance, needing the Poles to win when a draw would be enough for them...
  22. The consensus on here is he was our best player last night! Can't see us keeping a clean sheet against their attack so we'll need to score at least a couple. Who we turn to up front is a bit of a dilemma though...
