  1. Correct. It was a stupid thing to do and we deserve the fine.
  2. We should have. We really, really should have. Unfortunately, the SFA is one of the most insular, lazy, conservative minded, stuck in the past and fücking stupid FA's in all Europe. They hate the idea of looking beyond Scotland for answers and solutions. It also has a deeply embedded "jobs for the boys" culture that sees fools like Billy Stark and Archie Knox (in the past), Ricky Spragia and Alex Rae (at present) getting important jobs coaching (and ruining) our national Under 21, Under 19, Under 17 teams etc.
  3. That's another thing that's wrong with our game. Too many auld mates looking out for one another, set in their ways and suspicious of newcomers with dangerous, radical modern ideas on coaching. How many times have we heard X claim that Y is "a right guid fitba man that deserves another job".
  4. That's a good move. Was worried he's still be stuck in Sporting's B team for months to come.
  5. I'm - glad - you - do - old - chap - I'd - give - ya - a - big - wet - kiss - right - now - if - I - could.
  6. After Christmas, a now defunct club - which finished third in it's 2007/08 Champions League group - dropped down to the UEFA Cup and eventually got themselves into that years final in Manchester. A fixture which sadly is remembered for all the wrong reasons. Don't you remember ?
  7. The people of Manchester, circa 2008, would certainly agree with that.
  8. I like that idea Wasn't that how European football competition was like up until the late eighties or early nineties ? Anyone else think we should consider bringing back the Cup Winner's Cup (under a different name) with half of the current Europa League going into that competition instead ? Whilst we are on the subject, scrap the pre-match anthem, the special Champions League/Europa League badges cluttering up shirts and that mutilation of the shirt numbers that is mandatory for Euro competitions too.
  9. "TV that makes you think" ? A fat, angry Dundonian screaming "think ! think ya ! think ! fücking think !" surely will make you think. On a serious note, it was slightly before my time but I've enjoyed watching episodes of "After Dark" on YouTube. Incredible straight talking on controversial subjects and some very important and powerful guests featured too. I imagine that in today's much more tightly controlled world of control freak press agents and libel lawyers we are unlikely ever to see this kind of program on air again.
  10. That is brilliant ! Persecuted because they are "loyal true blue proddies" no doubt
  11. They should both be in.
  12. Good point. It was Stark
  13. How the hell did he only get one Under 21 cap ?
  14. Just watched this unintentionally hilarious documentary from the mid-nineties called "Rock'n'Roll Star". It's about a band from Hamilton called "The Gyres" billed as "Scotland's answer to Oasis". Some brilliant one liners, journalists talking pretentious pish and the arrogance from the lead singer is Visual quality isn't great but it's only a half hour watch. Anyone remember them ? Where are they now ?
  15. One of the papers reporting today that Tom Cairney is finally going to get his first Scotland call up for this game.
  16. Two very impressive wins for Hearts this week managed by "some guy with a laptop".
  17. No. We are completely desperate for defenders. In he goes. Beggars can't be choosers.
  18. I wish I could argue that's not the case ...... But I can't A sad state of affairs indeed.
  19. Murray Wallace would be my suggestion. Playing well for Shorpe Utd (who are top of League One) and will be playing Championship football next season.
  20. It is disappointing he only got the one cap, in that miserable friendly defeat against Japan. He was in good form during his time at Sunderland and Preston and should have been given a couple of games to show what he could do at international level. Most of Gary Teale's caps should have went to Wallace.
  21. Definitely worth a run out against Canada. And in excellent form at the moment.
  22. I doubt he'll be standing at the next election, he's eighty one now. The Brexit vote aside, you've got a good (non Plaid Cymru) MP there. He is one of Labour's most admirable MP's, consistently anti-war, wants rid of Trident, the Lords and the monarchy, he has exposed corruption in the past and is never afraid to remind the Conservative Party of it's racist, misogynist, homophobic past despite their powerful modern PR machine. And a very nice chap into the bargain.
  23. Some of the stuff he's said or tweeted in the last year has been mental. All started curiously after he lost the election for Speaker, and of course failed yet again to win a constituency seat. I have no proof of course but I suspect this might be to blame ........
  24. Why ? Wallace is playing well at present and will be playing Championship football next season. He's worth a look.
