I get them a lot, but a lot less than I once did as I now have drugs and also know my triggers.
I get co-codamol (30/500s) on prescription. Worked best when I first got them, but still good especially if I catch it early.
The biggest trigger is chocolate eaten during the day. Seems to be ok if I have it in the evening. Others are making sure my food levels are good, especially a substantial meal (stocked up for tomorrow) and making sure I go to the toilet regularly. If I need a jobby and don't go it pretty much always brings a migraine on.
Other cure can be chippy chips. Not sure why but occasionally works. Lifting weights used to work for a normal sore head (adrenalin) but I can't even touch a weight when I have a migraine.
Moral is get prescription drugs, and figure out your triggers.
Could go on for pages, as sometimes there really is absolutely no rhyme nor reason to them.
