Utd V Celtic
Return of Yermaw replied to jimstroma's topic in Football related - Discussion of non TA football
Don't you know the rules? After noting appreciation for the result, your are then supposed to qualify this by saying how shite both teams were and/or how shite the game was and/or how shite the defending was............ -
Presumably for the year if he wants to do another 16 by end of year. A real love/hate relationship - not even from run to run but from 20 mins to 20 mins within the same run. I love it cause it keeps me fit and I love the feeling after a long run. Occasionally, and I mean very occasionally, I love it when I am running. But most of the time it is either tough going or a slog - sometimes my mind wanders, most times it doesn't. I'm pretty much a miserable solitary runner most of the times; I scowl at people running together.........But a few days without running and I miss it and feel irritable. Go figure. As for trainers - I went through a phase of going over on my ankle and now I feel I can only wear Nike 3.0 or 5.0 as they are soft on the ankle but have a large tread and therefore I am more confident of not rolling my ankle. Maybe psychological but touch wood, have not done it since wearing them for past 8m or so. Got a 14k park run tomorrow and am not looking forward to it. In fact can't sleep and here I amd on the tamb bitchin about it. But I'll feel great once I've done it. It's the opposite of a good drug........

So those not wealthy or without good representation tend to be honest and credible? do you apply that rationale consistently? -
Aye cause international caps is the primary indicator as to how good a player is/was.......

Man City's Training Complex
Return of Yermaw replied to OLAS's topic in Football related - Discussion of non TA football
It's a club training facility that leaves behind almost every other club in England. It will benefit Man City's imports - it won't benefit the English league nor dare I say will it benefit the English national team. A Man City youth player has as much chance of playing for the first team as I do. Would old woman hair Hart be the only player homegrown player in the team? -
I would say in the majority of cases, a player would have gone down in the same situation. Doesn't make it right though. Not to bring the Celtic/Gudetti v Hearts incident up for any reason other than it is a non-penalty freshest in my mind. This is where the referees are a bit of a joke. There was no contact and therefore nothing the referee could have seen yet he gave a decision solely based on Gudetti's actions. In my view it is worse to give a penalty when no foul existed than to miss a penalty when there was a foul - a lot of referees, Collum in particular, look at it the other way which is a truly bizarre way to officiate. Based on that, if the County player had gone down, most referees would have given a penalty even though as you say, it would have been a dive.

Hopefully one day, in the not too distant future, these morons will learn to do it properly. -

The swimming has made his hair go very curly...... -
That was the problem under Levein - players not trying. Strachan has got the players playing for him and they give him 200%........

1. Taking all their policies collectively, the SNP are clearly a Social Democratic Party. 2. Their brand of nationalism is civic nationalism and not the toxic brand nationalism sometimes seen elsewhere. These are the two statements that matter the most to me. You can argue all you want about point 1 but by ignoring all other areas of SNP policy your statement that conservatism is at the heart of SNP ideology doesn't stand up. And cheers for the invite to the event. Yermaw's maw still lives in the Garnock Valley - I will send her along as my rep!
-
Am I right in thinking that the SNP are being compared to the Tories on the basis of an interpretation of an economic policy whilst the fact that the two parties are at the opposite end of the political spectrum on immigration, health, defence, foreign policy, EU, education, welfare, and just about everything else going is ignored? Suppose though if you keep saying it often enough you might start to believe it yourself......

Exactly. And even if the Scottish party as a collective elected not to separate themselves, you would expect to see at least some individual backbench Scottish Labour MPs and MSPs question the position of the party during the referndum. Did one Labour MP/MSP even suggest that independence might be good for a Scotland and their constituents? I would suggest not as the self serving interests of the MPs/MSPs and/or the party as a whole came first. A feckin odious party that still try and pass themselves off as the people's party. Whoever votes for them deserves them. Respect.....

Your Scottish venacular attempt seems to contain a number of dialects and a yoda contribution.......... -
Completely ignoring performances and our start to the group, you would drop players on the back of one meaningless friendly? Brown was out of his depth??? If you are being serious, you are clearly one of the new breeds of fan who take knee-jerk reactions and base opinion on what what is freshest in their mind.........

I love "get intae them". Last time I heard it was at the Sxotland v Holland game under Burley (good performance, lost one nil). Didn't know a drum started it. Shouldn't take much to get that going again and uniquely Scottish I believe so not a retread of a club song (I don't think).........

Your second para was exactly the same as my impression. And the level of abuse beyond the pantomime McGeady booing was the extent of a guy behind us shouting John O'Shit every time O'Shea went hear the ball. I realise it doesn't seem much but had us pissing ourselves every time he shouted it and to be fair, he never let us down.
