  1. I put Scotland as the team as I support. I have more clubs than Tiger Woods so opted for that. Was I the N/A? Stay in the EU, voted SNP, Yes to Indy.
  2. It has been a fantastic tournament. From a gambling perspective, it's been amazing. Backing the underdog on the handicap has came in (14 out of 16 times for me). Now it gets a bit harder, but I've always had success with the over 10/12 pts in the first half too. Is this one of the highest scoring tournaments knockout stage ever?
  3. 'kin hell, that was an amazing game to watch, but same old story. Well done the lads though. A great effort and everyone pretty much wrote them off after Australia beat the great 'powers' of Wales and England. See how the next 6N goes.
  4. That sing-song at the end comes out of nowhere. Like The Rock cutting a promo and signing off with a "If you smelllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll, what the rock is cooking"
  5. Glad he's staying on. There have been mistakes, and I hope he is willing to change out of form players as he does have his favourites. Not qualifying is a major blow though, there's no denying that and the last few results in the campaign were so dissapointing, but on the scale of it and from Levein it's night and day, and we are a better side. Maybe I'm celebrating failure or a big sook, but it wasn't really until after the Gibraltar game that I really wanted him to stay. His interviews fresh after that game really struck with me how happy/passionate and proud he is to be our coach. Sure if that were the qualifications, we would all be Scotland managers, but although the dip in form at the end is worrying - I think the heartache (AGAIN) will push us on to the WC qualifying.
  6. We had our share of luck along the way too. Ireland and Poland both hitting the woodwork in last year's games, deflected winners. Also, Germany being pretty average (for world champs) and dropping points to our main rivals didn't help. Hopefully this experience will help for the next campaign. Whilst it's harder to qualify for Russia than the Euros, our group is a better one.
  7. Yeah, they look fantastic. Caught the Russian, Swedish x2 games. Especially in Stockholm, they were rampant. Tempted to stick them on. 50-1
  8. 5 teams in that group, and Serbia having points deducted. Surely we would have came 4th as usual.
  9. FFS. He's paid money to coach football. The quotes are like something from the Daily Mash/Onion.
  10. Anyone of the mods want to set up a poll? I say yes.
  11. Great wee player. Inventive, clever, skillful and a decent striker of the ball. Glad he's staying on. My player of the campaign. Going by thus then. Gord mentioned he need to debrief the situation and mentioned the players, board and family. Players seem to want him, SFA too, now up to his family.
  12. Away in Georgia, and failing to win at home against Poland were the key moments. I didn't celebrate the draw in Dublin, but felt it was a good result, like the one in Warsaw was. Hampden isn't much of a fortress either. That needs to be recitifed. We started porly and nervy in both the recent matches. Our defence isn't very tight. The difference between us and Ireland is minimal, although they have a slick defence who soak up pressure better. We look erratic and amateurish at times back there. For the next campaign - we need to be much more assertive in the 'key' games. That's lesser ranked teams away - Malta, Lithuania, and possibly Slovenia. Whilst winning the key home games - Slovakia, Slovenia, and hopefully either taking 1 or 3pts off England.
  13. 50p on a Georgia win at 66-1. Would be quite funny if Ireland and Poland went through and the Germans ended up in the Playoffs.
  14. I'm starting to think he'll walk as well. He left at Middlesboro and although this is quite different. He was an absolute disaster there. He seems like a man of pride, and seems to have (haven't we all though) taken not qualifying, or at the least making the Playoffs, personally. Really don't want McLeish, but think he'll get it again too. His stock is tumbling, and there's no way he'll get a good Championship/EPL gig. If we are going to go for a new coach, we should be looking at foreign coaches ahead of Scottish ones this time. There's no one out there. Well there is, but they'll not come - Alec Neil, McInnes, etc.
  15. Fair enough,EK. I checked before and didn't see it, but I'll admit I got it wrong. Charming PMs by the way.
  16. Aye, good luck to the Irish. Wasn't in Dublin, but knew a few there and said it was a fantastic trip. At that stage in the group Ireland looked way off the pace (having taken 1pt from us) yet most of the folk they were great ambassadors. I watched a bit of the Ger-Ire game yesterday and it looked similar to our performances v France in the 08 campaign. They defended excellently and took the breaks that came their way. They looked a lot stronger than we did as well in our home game against Germany. When we played them last month, even at 1-1 or 2-2, you just knew they would always get the next goal. Last night, it didn't look like that and sure they missed a few great chances - Muller near the end. Christie looked to have a fantastic game from the bits I saw. I hope they win in Warsaw on Sunday. Might give some of the Poles who think they have a world class team a shake as well.
  17. Not a huge fan of Forrest, but thought he played very well last night. Only poor moment was that scuffled shot which I'm not sure if meant or was in two minds as to pass it to the player to his left.
