  1. Rhodes subbed at half time for Blackburn, and not due to injury.
  2. I think the board weren't very happy with his transfer dealings in his final season. Lot of bad decisions made there. A lovely guy and decent manager. Tried to get St Mirren playing good passing football and bringing through young players was always a priority for him. His failings lie in transfer dealings (not really an issue here) and results are often inconsistent. St Mirren would go on long barren runs without a win then pick up a string of excellent results under him. Think he'll do well in this role, even though it's only for one game.
  3. Absolute steal for Aberdeen if the figure going about is true. Awful from a St Mirren perspective.
  4. St Mirren have signed James Dayton on loan, ex Killie player
  5. Think the board have rejected around 20 + bids over the last few years. They want out, but they're St Mirren fans and are adamant they'll only sell when they're certain the buyer is right. Incredibly wary. Doubt it'll end well. But there's nothing we can do.
  6. We are doomed, yep. Unless we bring in about 4 or 5 new players, and a new manager, then the baw is burst. And I don't see either of them happening anytime soon. No home win all season, and no clean sheet all season. Scunnered.
  7. Went to see Birdman last night and thought it was brilliant.
  8. There were 7 academy graduates in that St Mirren team. Added to that, the keeper Mark Ridgers, also Scottish, is 24 and he's currently keeping Kello out the team. They have all shown a lot of promise. Since Teale got the manager's job on an interim basis, he's not shied away from playing youth. He's probably realised along with everyone else that Tommy Craig's signings were absolutely shocking.
  9. Rumour I heard was that Butcher has the St Mirren job if he wants it. This might throw a spanner in the works right enough...
  10. People forget that Hanley is still relatively young for a centre half. Done fine again last night. Chris Martin? I can't disagree with the criticisms. Really should have scored, but gave the defenders a hard time. I think we need to hand him a start to give him a fair chance to impress. Mulgrew was brilliant. Totally bossed the midfield. Robertson outstanding, Maloney just genius, but I think we have to give everyone credit. Tough game and we got the result.
  11. Think this is the one you're talking about.
  12. What a load of petty, inflammatory nonsense.
  13. Well, she is an MP. She's in fear of losing her job. They will say anything to scare Scottish voters into voting for them next May. Anything. They're about to get royally fecked and they know it. Desperation.
  14. Kevin Doyle ruled out for Ireland.
  15. Quite a few young right backs in the Premiership that would maybe have deserved a chance, like Ziggy Gordon, Paul McGinn, Jason Naismith (no St Mirren bias here...) etc, if it's just "for experience". He's probably only been included as he was already in the under 21 squad. Don't necessarily agree he should be in though.
  16. Robertson only on the bench for Hull.
  17. Russell again! Great finish. Fantastic ball in from Forsyth too.
  18. Pretty sure the majority of supporters feel the same way now. Enough is enough.
  19. Not too fussed over the MacLeod thing. Seems that he's the token youngster in the squad in for experience, just like Gauld, McGregor, Pawlett, have been in recent times. Still think there's players more deserving of a place, but oh well. Not many surprises other than that.
  20. Indefensible. He's now a coach at the club, so something has to be done. No respect for the team either, leaving us worse off during a mini injury crisis. A very nice guy off the pitch, but just when you think he's cut the stupid behaviour out his game, something like this happens. The club have accepted the 3 game ban offered. Need to wait and see if they pursue any further action.
