Eastiebeastie
Can see this one dragging on and on. We really need the Gib FA to confirm either way. Maybe being sceptical, but if a win in our last game takes us to the finals, would we not take about 20,000 to London. How about that for a Gib money spinner ? ££££££££££££££££
Hampden Diehard
This is a farce....if it's true. Again, if it's true, we shouldn't be playing matches just to allow a team to make a few bob.
wanderer
This is a farce....if it's true. Again, if it's true, we shouldn't be playing matches just to allow a team to make a few bob. I think this is the major factor. Clearly they want to be raking in as much as they can off us, Germany and the Irish, but do not want to loose most of it in tax to Portugal.... they have played 3/4 games in Faro over the last year and suddenly Tax is a issue? Whats going to swing this is UEFA on how strict they are on their rule about having your venues in for 60 days after the draw, and given Gibraltar can not play in Spain and their whole acceptance was based on them using Faro until their own stadium was built, they are going to need to but in a very special case to get it over turned (and I just do not think they have the muscle within UEFA to get such a ruling over turned). deecie
Flights to London have fairly rocketed in price. £200 return to Luton = bargain nae.
Lammy TS1
There is no way it will be changed. Faro was confirmed months ago and hundreds of fans have already booked package holidays. Who is going to compensate the fans? Scottish FA? The Carling nations cup was different as they got the money from SKY to cover the compensation. Where will the SFA get the funds from this time? Would have to be the Gibraltar FA....
France here we come
I don't think anyone would really need to compensate us.

Fugitive
A bit ironic that with the prices to London rocketing for the Wembley game me and the Mrs went to Faro cheaper instead
Eastiebeastie
If the Gib FA want it moved it just needs FA approval in England and UEFA to ok the move and its game on London. Can't see any reason why it won't be moved if thats what the Gib's want.
ianp
I have contacted the Gibraltar FA and they have replied that at present they have no plans to move the fixture from Faro. They do state they have encountered some problems in Portugal, but hope to have these resolved soon.
Glasgow1872
I'm booked for Albufeira for the week. If they move it then I don't really care as I'm still going to Portugal. Sod them!
Khana Lagur
Think Gib should more it to Torshavn if Faro's off the cards.

wanderer
this venue has never been confirmed Depends on what venues Gibraltar listed when they handed in their list of stadiums to UEFA 60 days after the draw was done (as all teams had to do)..... if they just put Faro, then they are stuck with that, unless they can put a good case to FIFA to allow them to add a new location. Shotts56
Yeah, I wouldn't really listen to the SFA on that. They don't have the best record with knowing when venues have been confirmed or not.

Angus_Young
Email today from SSC Gibraltar v Scotland Sunday 11 October 2015 The Scottish FA has received correspondence from the Gibraltar FA regarding speculation surrounding the European Qualifeier between Gibraltar and Scotland on Sunday 11 October 2015.Due to ongoing issues at Estadio do Algarve in Portugal, Faro, the Gibraltar FA is working on potential alternative venues for some of their European Qualifying matches, should they decide to move away from their current venue. The Gibraltar FA has advised us that a decision on this matter will be made before the end of the year.We will update the Scotland Supporters Club members on the outcome of this decision at the earliest opportunity and advise all supporters to avoid making travel arrangements until the venue for the match has been confirmed.
