If we finish third we'll have enough points to be best placed third team and qualify automatically ? Orraloon Posted June 16, 2015 Share Posted June 16, 2015 I was lookng at the groups last night and I am certain that teh Dutch will get thier game together, beat the Czech's and Iceland and make the second spot. I think who I see as plausible opponents for a potential play off oppoents (though let's not be England and consider ourselves WC winners before we have even qualified) I would prefer to avoid Switzerland, Slovenia or Russia. If the Dutch land in a play off and in a likely seeded position I would absolutely want to avoid them. Seeing talk of us getting 9 points and we are there, I tihnk 7 points is more realistic of a target. King Of Paisley Posted June 16, 2015 Share Posted June 16, 2015 Wouldn't fear the Czech Republic. Have nowhere near the quality they had in the nineties and early 2000's. Iceland's rise has been meteoric and would actually be a sterner test. Is most of their side the U21s who wiped the floor with us a couple of years ago? They only have 1 point and 6 points behind Albania and Albania have a game in hand too. I think BiH will prob pip Israel for the play offs too.
