Robroysboy
What other venues are further east than tiblisi that are competing in this european competition, if any? Are Azurbejan competing for qualfication for France? This will be my most travelled match, beating Ukraine in 2007 by a distance.

wanderer
Kazakhstan by a country mile.... Baku is further east than Tbilisi, so Azerbijan also. Also Russia can play games in Vladivostok if they choose Edited March 12, 2015 by wanderer
Robroysboy
Kazakhstan is further. Just had a look at it on the map, it borders china. I would have thought that country was Asia, rather than Europe.

radian_13
Israel more south but imagine that'd be further as well?
tartanpar
Yeah Kazakhstan is the furthest away in UEFA (presuming Russia don't play in the east). I belive New York is closer to Scotland than Kazakhstan.
wanderer
Israel more south but imagine that'd be further as well? Looking at a map, Israel is actually no further east than Ukraine, Belarus and Finland.

bajin
Just had a look at it on the map, it borders china. I would have thought that country was Asia, rather than Europe. It's a bit daft some of the countries that are in UEFA. I think all the ex-Soviet nations went in to UEFA when the USSR broke up but it would make more sense for some of them to be in the Asian federation.
