Pretty certain that it’s being mis-reported by STV and others. As you say - it has limited use unless your starting location is within the region of the host city. Yeah, it was the same when we played in Dortmund, if you had a match ticket, you could get free train travel from almost as far away as Cologne to Dortmund.
