  1. Oh feck, aye! Next away strip mibbee?
  2. Thought that was the Daily Mash for a minute. Only 1,800ft for the first attempt. He could drive up 14,000ft in Colorado to give himself a start.
  3. Oh, Mediterranian sky now? Neither shirt-of-darkest-blue, nor Pantone 600 optomistic-Scottish-summer. A bit royal no? (Toss-grenade-and-leave emoticon...) Looks a bit bolder on-screen I suppose.
  4. A lot better view at Hampden than I've had at many away games. Admittedly from N or S stands here versus stuck way up high, way down low , in a corner or behind a net overseas. Worst for me was the game at the Emirates, where I had a letterbox view under a stand behind a goal. N stand effectively has safe standing too as it's not dangerously steep like some places. Could that be formalised? Perhaps some work could be done to pull in the E, W stands as previously suggested.
  5. Absolutely; those two were linesman calls. The reason I'd like to see complete footage again, was that my impression was that the ref was against us throughout... What I saw time and again was that an Italian attack would break down and we'd break quickly. Around the half way line with many of their players still up the park they'd foul us. (No yellows in those days for that.) We'd try to take the free kick, but each time the ref would wave us back a couple of yards to the "correct spot". Meanwhile of course, Italy are all back and organised. Subtle ...until the incident. For me sitting around half way, this seemed to happen several times. Not even sure it would show up on TV, as they could be cutting to replays or other shots, but would like to see.
  6. Is there a video of the whole game anywhere, not just highlights? I came away with the impression that the ref was bought, and not just from that free kick. I've never seen the game on TV however to check again. Didn't see any bother in town, but we went to a pretty empty Italian restaurant. Staff seemed a bit taken aback at first!
  7. Looks like they did play their neighbours quite a bit. http://www.eloratings.net/Denmark.htm Something else I just noticed was that we never played outwith the Home Champs until 1929. England were playing others from 1907 quite regularly. I think we missed the boat to hand out a few early thumpings to the likes of Germany, Holland and France http://www.eloratings.net/England.htm
  8. I guess it's because Denmark have played 801 games. Only England (1025), Sweden, Argentina, Brazil, Germany, S.Korea, Hungary, Uruguay, Mexico, Thailand, France, Malaysia, Poland & Norway have played more. If you love a spreadsheet, paste the tables from here and batter on http://www.eloratings.net/world.html Pah! Only the 4th highest win percentage (58%) after Brazil (63%), Spain & Germany. Scotland are about 28th at 47%. Sandwiched between Uzbekistan / Iraq and Hungary. There are only 18 nations on the list that are above 50% and they include Tahiti, Northern Cyprus, and New Caledonia. That's statistics for you
  9. Nah, Scotland have played 762, won 361, lost 233. Right, these must be the most meaningless stats, but there are 15 teams that have won more than 361, and 31 that have lost more than 233: Brazil have won 607, England(+OlympicGB, sorry) 595, (West+)Germany 548, Argentina 535, S.Korea 507, Sweden 500, Mexico 452, Hungary 434, Italy 420, Uruguay 399, France 399, Spain 397, Netherlands 394, Egypt 380, Czech(oslovakia/Bohemia) 377, Denmark 365. Finland have lost 396, Switzerland 342, Norway 337, Singapore 335, Thailand 326, Mayaysia 325, Chile 307, Luxembourg 306, Wales 302, Sweden 298, Uruguay 296, Indonesia(Dutch E.Indes) 292, Austria 285, Hungary 285, Belgium 279, Denmark 275, Paraguay 271, Malta 264, Peru 263, El Salvador 260, Trinidad+Tobago 260, Poland 260, Bulgaria 259, N.Ireland 252, France 252, (Republic+)Ireland 251, Kenya 249, USA 246, Bolivia 237, Serbia(+Montenegro/Jugoslavia) 237, Jamaica 234. Apart from having too much time on my hands, read into that what you like!
  10. Boy, oh boy, you're goin' down! I could be disqualified from giving evidence though...
  11. Mind and get in early and up front for the support act
  12. First time I've heard you sound bitter Donny No, yous didn't get a mention. The brighter the light, the deeper the shadow...
  13. That was me on the tunes thread. Senser were great there last night, so 2nd part was right. Re. first, they've given the place a lick of paint
  14. Makes perfect sense. Knock Hampden down and put up a Tescos and some houses and give the marketing men and the blazers the £££ to do what the feck they want. So far so good eh?
  15. A couple of their other song titles are brilliant too... Scary "Anstruther's Dark Prophecy" and the threatening "Beneath Cowdenbeath"
  16. At least Doon The Slope didn't claim I would be at it.
  17. OK, I'll try: It is seen as a symbol of British nationalism, loyalty to Britain, military power and justification for war.
  18. For anybody selling out F'kit, for anybody not feelin' good about anything
