  1. Just noticed it is back on Now TV ! Ya beauty. They pulled it a few months ago and we were only about 3 series into it, I was not happy. But they gave me a months free subscription and now its back . Happy Days.
  2. Good luck to both of you for a speedy recovery, though I could have done without a close up picture of your crotch at breakfast McTeeko 😁
  3. The actual TV report suggests an alternative reason she wasn’t there is because Meghan herself didnt want to interrupt something sacred . Plus she may feels uncomfortable that Kate wasnt there . That sounds pretty plausible too, but of course the papers need to make it into some sort of barny.
  4. ‘’Issuing a punishing verdict on the chancellor’s “dash for growth”, traders in the City of London sent sterling tumbling on Friday amid a broad-based sell-off in response to the massive rise in public borrowing required to finance his plans. The pound fell by almost 2% after Kwartengannounced £45bn of tax cuts directed at higher earners, trading close to a symbolic $1.10 against the US dollar for the first time since 1985. It comes after the Treasury said it would finance the chancellor’s tax cuts and the energy price guarantee for consumers and businesses with £72.4bn in additional UK government debt sales than planned for the current financial year.’’ Here all you high earners. Have a wad of tax cuts. Some idiot will buy our junk debt.
  5. 😂 I didn’t necessarily say he was on his 3rd bottle to celebrate. He will just register himself for tax in England, I think he threatened to do something like that.
  6. I think we took the main heat being the first team to play them. I may be wrong as I dont keep up to date with news in Wales but there just did not seem to be the same emotional baggage attached to the Wales game. I also feel that Wales having a world class striker in Bale makes a big difference to a teams conference. It sounds like I am making excuses for us, I am not, we were utterly woeful and should have made a better effort than we did. I just feel the pressure was too great. Even the fans were mute. I thought we would lose but not in the manner we did. I feel the same re Ireland, concerned about my optimism! Despite our convincing win the other night I think Ireland will still fancy their chances but if we get an early goal it may rattle them. For this reason I am not sure who we should play up front. Think Adams may be more productive than Dykes.
  7. I dont think Wales had anything remotely like the pressure we had. Could argue that professional players should be able to rise above it but they are human like everyone else and could not really avoid the hype surrounding the game. However I do agree we were a shambles . Yes, a win tomorrow and we can forget Dublin. From Wednesday’s performance I really cannot see them bossing us the way they did in June. I am reasonably confident we will win if we show the same determination.
  8. We were very unfortunate to be the country playing Ukraine in June, the whole atmosphere around that game was horrible and it didnt help that an ex captain of Scotland actually came out saying he wanted us to lose . I think we buckled under that pressure and I think there was very little Clarke could do against the media build up. There was possibly an overhang into the Ireland game. We struggle a bit in end of season games generally , perhaps because we dont have a lot of depth in the squad. We did ok against Armenia but they are shit. I have had my doubts about Clarke but probably more due to disappointment in individual games, rather than considering the overall situation. I would probably rate him B+ also , particularly in terms of affordable managers who were realistically interested in managing us.
  9. Have never used anyones drive so cant help unfortunately but on the few occasions I have been brave enough to watch Scotland sober have parked around the Battlefield area. If you get there an hour before the game starts can usually get a space and only a 15 min walk from the ground. I think it would be easier doing that than parking too close as it will be pandemonium in the streets after the game. Unless of course you can get a post match cup of tea thrown in with the parking price and wait till the crowds have cleared 😊
  10. This week’s episode was better I thought. Some decent baddies emerging !
  11. Agree. Any time we play well is when we properly get stuck in and fight for every ball like we did last night for a good part . Not sure if Ukraine were a bit blase thinking they just needed to turn up, but they definitely were rattled in the second half. Ireland may have been the same after the result in June but they are now going to be more aware of our threat. It’s imperative we play with the same grit .
  12. Great idea, why didn’t I think of that ! 😁 Just off to The Tartan Shop now 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️
  13. My daughter gets married next year and she has a wedding dress shopping day on Saturday afternoon. Being the mother of the bride I am obliged to be there … I am probably going to be the first ever woman shopping for a wedding dress wearing jeans and a football top. I hope I dont burst into ‘ We’ll be coming’ after a few glasses of complimentary Prosecco 😁
  14. Agree with this. Mentioned on the other thread that we may need to change things a bit as Ireland will be aware of the potential Fraser/Dykes danger if its stalemate after 60 mins. I thought Armstrong did well but missed too many chances . Probably would start Fraser but not Dykes, as I mentioned on other thread , Dykes may not get the same space on Saturday and become frustrated. I felt McGinn looked exhausted by the end last , think Clarke should have subbed him at 2-0 to help a bit with the next 2 games.
  15. There was a lot of booing IMO. From all around the stadium. As much as clapping. It started before the minutes clapping was announced. In the area of the North Stand where I was there was about an evenly matched clapping/not clapping. I kept a dignified hands in my pockets and my mouth closed ……
  16. Me neither. There was a fair bit of space in the south stand right enough. Didn’t actually notice the upper south as for a change there was enough entertainment on the pitch . By about 8.15 pm I am usually thinking about whether to get a roll on sausage or a bowl of bran flakes for breakfast next morning. Was that opened ?
  17. Yip, they were a real threat at the start, Mudryk was getting away all the time. Reminded me a bit of playing Israel, we got caught out from the wings regularly. Steve Clarke mentioned in his post match interview about Dykes and Fraser coming on late. He said Adams and Armstrong had done a lot of hard work tiring the Ukraine defenders which allowed Dykes and Fraser to take advantage. Thought it was nice that he was giving recognition to Adams and Armstrong as the glory tends to go the goal scorers /makers. Ireland will be aware of this for Saturday’s game and may consider their own subs accordingly so we will need to be one step ahead. I cant decide whether Dykes should start or not. His timing and placing for the headers last night was outstanding, but he wont always get that space. I think Ireland will have him well marked if he starts and he may get frustrated if he isnt scoring. It will be a hard decision for Clarke IMO.
  18. The crowd was quiet for a fair part of the game. The small group of Ukraine supporters were far more vocal, its fairly common these days. However when we got to grips with things the players were really feeding off the crowd, I dont think I have seen a more obvious example for a long time. I would like to see Hampden have something like St Mirren has , a group of supporters that keep an almost constant noise throughout the match. It still allows the crowd to rise above the noise when there is some action but removes dead atmosphere at other times. I know its been discussed to death on here though and not really for this thread.
  19. I think if one of our players had tackled like that last night the card would have been a different colour. The ref did hand out a reasonable amount of yellow cards to Ukraine but I think he would have shat it knowing there are plenty who would have agreed with a red on that tackle.
  20. Ditto . Will happily eat humble pie for my negativity. Wtf do I know 😁 Best performance I have seen for a long time. Ukraine were a threat down the left in the first half, we seemed to be giving them too much space there. But we really lifted lifted the energy levels and clicked as the game went on. Cant believe no one is really mentioning McGregor, I thought he was outstanding. The whole team were great over the 90 minutes right enough so its hard to single out individuals. Play like that on Saturday and we have nothing to fear from Ireland. Thought it was a definite red for the tackle on Adams. He worked his arse off tonight .
  21. 😂 I am missing the ‘like’ button.
  22. I am not confident at all of us getting much from either of these two games unfortunately . However there should definitely not be anything like the pressure tonight that there was in June, Ukraine should be treated like any other team by fans and players alike. Absolutely no special treatment. If if we can win by even a single goal it should help with confidence massively for Saturday. Ireland could be over confident. I fear the worst but I will still be getting my arse of the couch and making an effort to get there, in the hope I am completely wrong.
