  1. He wouldn't answer the question. On the opposition leaders debate he was asked the question about possible post election deals. Dimbleby prompted him to actually answer the question rather than go on about how he'd be working for a Labour majority because that goes without saying. What did Miliband do? Ignored the question and Dimbleby and just banged on about campaigning for a majority. Dimbleby should just have cut him off straight away and told him if he wasn't going to answer the question he'd be forfeiting his time to speak. It's the same every time someone from Labour is on either TV or radio just now. Chuka Umanna was on Radio 5 this morning and it was the same old party line. There won't be a coalition or any deals with the SNP, but we're working for a majority anyway. He was called out on it for not answering the questions by someone else that was on and accused of treating the electorate with contempt. Umunna said he would answer the question by telling us 2 things. Guess what they were! Yep, exactly what he'd said already. They're shameless. Given that the polls have remained virtually unchanged for 6 months it's almost certain that neither Labour or the Tories will have a majority, so for them to continue to not answer questions about possible post election scenarios is treating the voters with contempt. It's going to hurt Miliband because the only way he can become PM is to rely on the SNP for some sort of support. It probably will be vote by vote as Sturgeon has suggested but it will still be seen as betrayal by a lot of English voters.
  2. As it is every time he's interviewed. Hasn't a clue.
  3. Sounds like it was a good decision to go to bed as normal and not pay £20. In the aftermath of every recent Mayweather fight the analysis seems to suggest he's boxed very skilfully but that the fight was pretty dull, so how on earth do all his fights generate so much hype and money? Is it purely because of the undefeated streak?
  4. Farage is on the Andrew Marr Show moaning about the BBC again. Reckons BBC should stop doing entertainment shows and that their website is too influential. Still banging on about UKIP not getting enough coverage.
  5. Always had a bit of a soft spot for Leicester but Pearson's got me wanting them relegated now. He really fancies himself as a hard man and his attitude in most interviews has got worse and worse as the season has gone on.
  6. Interesting programme on BBC2 last night about how Scotland's workplace is evolving. Emphasis in the first programme on innovation and the diversity of our economy. Certainly put a lie to the too stupid argument. If only it had been shown last year! 2 more in the series over the next couple of Tuesdays.
  7. Shops, offices and flats, but try finding somewhere in central London where you're not in close proximity to at least one of those, so it is basically a ban.
  8. I'm Edinburgh West too. You had any leaflets in from the Tories or Labour? I've not had a thing. They've either decided not to waste any money on a lost cause or are leaving the way clear for their usual supporters to vote Lib Dem instead.
  9. Really think Clegg and co should change the name of their party. They gave up being Liberals when they jumped into bed with the Tories and Clegg's comments on Scottish voters suggest he doesn't believe in democracy either!
  10. Most folk will only have seen the Mail's front page headline which missed out the word constitutional.
  11. BBC appear to think Paula Radliffe is the only person running!
  12. We've heard a lot about possible tactical voting in this election, although the ubiquitous Prof Curtice reckons it's unlikely to be effective in most constituencies as the SNP are comfortably ahead in the polls in them. However, my constituency, Edinburgh West, is one that is reckoned to be very close between the SNP and the incumbent Lib Dem. It's now less than 2 weeks away, folk are already postal voting and I've not yet had a single leaflet from the Labour or Tory candidates. There's been one from the Greens, quite a few from the SNP and virtually one a day from the Lib Dems telling me they're the only party that can stop the SNP in this seat. Now Labour and the Tories won't be a factor but you'd still expect one leaflet from each of them, so I'm beginning to wonder if it's a definite decision to leave the way clear for their prospective voters to vote Lib Dem instead. Has anyone else in Edinburgh West received anything from either party? What about other constituencies? Do you have candidates that don't appear to be campaigning at all that you would usually expect to hear something from?
  13. Think those are debenture holders seats, or something similar. They're 75% empty for most games.
  14. Giants sweep LA in a 3 game series. Much needed after a 4-10 start and virtually being unable to hit the ball out of the infield. Hopefully that will get them going.
  15. The sub thing really annoys me. In the Champions League the ref never adds on another 30 seconds if a sub is made in injury time. Mike Dean did add another 30 seconds when Mourinho made an injury time sub against Man U last week so seems to be managed better in league football. I'd take time keeping out of the hands of the ref. Give the 4th official something to do other than get moaned at by managers for a decision they didn't make! Should have a clock that the crowd can see so they know exactly what's happening. I never understand why the clock at Hampden stops at 45 minutes.
  16. Heard someone on either the radio or Sky this morning say that clubs ask the SFA for clarification on refereeing decisions nearly every week, but they do it privately. The difference here is Celtic have gone running to the press and made a public affair of the whole thing. While Celtic haven't asked for Meekings to be punished I can't help feeling that the SFA have felt pressured to do something because of the publicity. The compliance officer shouldn't be looking at cases like this as far as I'm concerned. The system should be limited to violent incidents. Hopefully Inverness are successful and he gets to play in the final.
  17. https://twitter.com/RichardLochhead/status/589843886358585344 Think it's the UK govt that should be reviewing it's position when it comes to EU fisheries negotiations.
  18. Absolutely embarrassing sign off by Andy Walker there. He's just about greeting.
  19. She's been on for about 15 minutes and hasn't answered one of Brewer's questions yet. She seems to know more about SNP policies than Labour ones because that's all she's talked about.
  20. Dimbleby obviously getting a voice in his ear telling him there's too much agreement and to try and stir it up!
  21. Completely incompetent. He hasn't got a clue. Ponsonby's going easy on him, but he's still floundering.
  22. Can any St Mirren fan tell me what Jim Goodwin brings to the team? I've watched most of the Motherwell and Ross Co games and he always seems to be about 2 yards behind the opposition man in possession and then when attack ends, whether it's been a goal or not, he screams at his nearest team mate as if they're to blame for him being off the pace.
  23. Each way on Spieth and Mickelson. Kerching.
