  1. And according to the same poll 58% would support a vote within five years! Seems, contrary to Alan, that most people are far from tired of it. Yes voters possibly more hardline (eg witness massive growth in membership of Greens and SNP) and one or to no voters possibly hacked off with events since the 18th.
  2. I know Nicola Sturgeon raised the issue but it strikes me it's a good question to pose to any wannabe leaders of SLAB, is it okay to take Scotland out of Europe even against the wishes of the Scottish electorate?
  3. Crichton's busy, he was on BBC 5 live earlier today, sees Lamont's resignation as renewal of SLAB, mentioned loads of candidates, Murphy, Brown, Sarwar etc. Also seemed to be spend quite a lot of time metioning his rag maybe in a desperate and forlorn bid to address falling sales figures. Shame the BBC presenter didn't take the opportunity to quiz him about his papers role in the Vow.
  4. I've put in my tuppenceworth as well. I guess it might have been similar to yours, at least they'l know how we feel - assuming they're not just filed in the big 'circular filing cabinet'
  5. Any ideas how Visit Scotland should mark that? A nice blue plaque? Visitor centre?
  6. Even if you don't read the newspapers don't underestimate the impact that newspaper headliens have, not just physically where every headline in the shop is screaming doom and gloom but also when tv and radio deveote time to recycling newspaper headlines by commenting on those headlines. Newspaper influence is undoubtely waning but not dead yet particularly amongst the older generation.
  7. Presumably wouldn't have to stand in every constituency. Anyhow thanks to the growth in membershp it would only be £3 each.
  8. Looks like Deila's job is safe for the time being unless there's a Staggies comeback
  9. We had a chance. We didn't take it. Plenty of people still give a phuqq and aren't walking away. Remember he WM elite and their buddies in the media would want nothing better, don't give them that satisfaction.
  10. Whilst I'm pretty left wing (certainly compared with the present Labour party) I think you're right. Surely there is just the plain old fashioned economic argument that Scotland would have been better off if independent.
  11. What it doesn't show is whether No voters were more reliant on old style media, I suspect they were Eddthus the need for some alternative voices on tv,radio or on the newspaper stand.
  12. What a shame it's tucked away on the inner pages of a paper of such limited circulation in Scotland.
  13. You'd think our media would be champing at the bit to highlight the unfairnes of all this. Hey where's Scotland's champion when you need it? Where are all the investigative journos? Good work to you guys though, should be widely publicised.
  14. I thought Hutton played well on Saturday, okay his crossing might not have been great but looked good every time he ran at them. I just think we have to accept he's not the greatest defender in the world. The fact is there is not an obvious replacement for him (Whittaker, no thanks), Bardsley is the nearest to a quality replacement and his continued omission is puzzling to say the least. I didn't see the game tonight but seems that the substitutions were fairly negative as against Georgia. I felt even on Saturday that an injection of pace would have worried tiring opponents, looking at the subs we haven't got masses of that but Burke might have been worth a shout.
  15. So I wonder what the German press will make of this? Bad case of post world cup blues.
  16. Would have settled for that before the game kicked off. Four points from the last two games and hopefully some lessons learnt tonight as well, bring on the Irish!
  17. I feel like a kid on a long car journey, "Are we nearly there yet?". Why can't the ref just blow up ealry and we'll call it an early night?
  18. I think you're not the only one who'd be happy with that.
  19. Why can't I just enjoy it when we go ahead, now I'm going to be anxious and a bundle of nerves for the next 40 minutes. Anyone else suffer the same problem?
  20. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-29616672 Andrew Neil completly missing the point.
  21. Have they even bothered to give any rationale why farage would be invited when others with more MPs and more members would be excluded?
  22. Had one of several chances been taken or had the final ball been a bit better it would have been very comfortable result. I only really started to get nervous when we had ten minutes to go and felt they might nick one through some mistake by us. I felt the game got very stretched as it went on and that we were a bit exposed on our left flank. I like both Anya and Robertson but I'm not sure the understanding was always there yesterday. I'd have liked to have seen Maloney and Naismith switch as I feel Maloney's more effective in that central area. Back four looked solid and though Brown was excellent int he middle of the park. All in all decent performance against an ordinary side, passing, commitment and self beleif all massively imporved under Strachan On a positive I'm sure our finishing can't be as poor as yesterday and I think Fletcher's due a goal in a Scotland shirt (last one was five years ago!) so bring on Tuesday night.
  23. Absolutely diabolical, pathetic show by STV - who I'm asuming are the ones to blame.
  24. I'd be surprised any of them not what the inside of a church looks like
