  1. Craig Levein must be delighted that the good work he did "behind the scenes" is paying off so handsomely.
  2. The goal was a thing of sheer beauty. Really happy for Maloney as he's always been a player I've liked, and it was very frustrating that he generally flattered to deceive in a Scotland shirt.

    3Rd Place

I think it's way too early to claim that. Beating Poland at home and win today would put us even on points with them... and they've still got Ireland twice and Germany away.

    Team

Surprised they've left Keane out... Happy with that! Morrison will be a miss, but I'd be happy to see Darren coming on from the bench
  5. I think he's right that the away allocation should be higher, but to link it to potential trouble is nonsensical. SFA and FAI should have came to a written agreement guaranteeing a certain number of away fans at both games. No doubt there'll be a lot of TA upset in June.
  6. To me, that's a team that we should be taking 3 points from, all things being right in the world.
  7. That's the team I'd like to see, although I'd be tempted to go for Gordon in goal. I think it would give us a great boost to see him back in goal. I imagine WGS will go for Marshall, which is fine, but I expect them to get a game each in the upcoming double header.
  8. I think it's mental that folk are writing off Darren Fletcher for Scotland because he hasn't made the starting 11 for Man Utd in the past couple of months. The thread's really about whether he needs to leave Man U. and if he's still not looking like getting any game time by Christmas, I think the answer has to be yes. That said, as soon as he gets a regular game again he'll be back to being one of most of our most important players. I've no doubt about that. He's a level above every other outfield player in the squad and always has been.
  9. With Northern Ireland flying in their group there's actually a real chance that we may be the only UK and Ireland team not to qualify for this one. Poland and ROI are both slightly ahead if us at this point, but all of us have reasons to be pleased with what we've done so far. It's absolutely within our own hands. We need a couple of big wins at home against the big 3, and can't afford any losses.

    Berra

Very worried that WGS will start with Greer. He's looked a liability at times in the dark blue. Berra would be the clear choice for me if fit.
  11. S. Fletcher has to start up top with Naismith for this one. It's criminal that he's 27 and he's only had 15 games for us.

    Pro12 2014-15

I'd like to see all the Glasgow boys given a run out as a team in the Autumn internationals. Only positions I'd change would be back row.
  13. Craig Gordon went up for a corner in injury time. I expect the Parkhead faithful were raging about that.
  14. I don't understand why so many people don't get that.
  15. Fletch... Isn't he officially the captain anyhow (unless injured)?
  16. I think there's a decent argument to say that if Scotland had never had it's own identity in football and rugby a good majority of us would consider ourselves British first and Scottish second. There's no doubt the team has had a big effect on the modern Scottish identity, but it still doesn't mean that we need to make a political statement out of a football match. The votes been made, and we should just get on with the football while we still have a team.
  17. My disappointment at the vote doesn't translate to wishing to alienate a whole section of the support for having different politics. While the TAMB are mainly yes, that doesn't necessarily translate to the punters at Hampden. To me FoS is still my song but now it's a song of remorse like "Bonnie Charlie". I don't think there'll be another vote in my many a year. We might as well just make the most of it and now is the time for Scotland to be united.
  18. Chance for Darren to find a starting spot and captain Man U through October?
  19. Sooner they give Russia and Qatar their envelopes back, and the World Cup to USA/England/Australia, the better.
  20. I've advocated for an independent Scotland to family and friends for 20 years. However, If it's a no, with a 80%+ turnout, then I have to concede that it's the will of the people to be a part of the UK rather than a country. I will start referring to myself as British, as that is what I will likely be for the rest of my days.
  21. Samuel Eto'o comes to mind,
  22. Good on him. Hopefully he's tapping on a wider phenomenon with the way the no campaign have handled the lead in.
  23. Gareth Bale could run the 100m in 11.4 at 14. He's one of the fastest footballers playing today. If Jack Harper can run anything like him. we might be on to something.
