  1. I reckon this is the most realistic post in the thread. How many times in the past have players from other Scottish clubs gone to either Rangers or Celtic, sparking the usual debate about whether they'd be better going somewhere they're guaranteed a game, or whether they should have the confidence in their own ability to go to a bigger club and do well. Nothing different here.
  2. Taking Harper out of the equation, his comments about wanting big, strong, fast runners was still scandalous for someone in his position in 2015. 1985 maybe but not nowadays, regardless of who thinks highly of him as a coach.

  4. Another Sergio mug here. Can't really stop betting on him now. Though for long enough I was the same with Westwood Also a couple of pounds on Bubba and Jason Day, although the way things are going Day might become the next Westwood/Sergio.
  5. Fletcher's also playing a different role with West Brom than he did with Man Utd. At utd he'd never have been encouraged to take on the range of passes that he's going for now, instead he'd rarely give the ball away as the job was to get it back and give it to someone else to do the creative stuff. Whether that makes him a worse player now or not is debatable but it isn't a definite like-for-like comparison.
  6. Aye, but I'd be surprised if they drop so many again this year as they aren't a "new" team with a new manager this season. Best hope is they get papped out the Champions League by Malmo and have to go back to Thursday-Sunday games again as that seems to affect teams more than playing Wednesday/Saturday for some reason.
  7. Last season was the Dons' highest league finish in donkeys' years so it's maybe a bit harsh to say they're content to settle for second already! The only thing that would stop Celtic winning the league would be greater strength in depth throughout the league as it's too much to expect any club to challenge them on their own. Unfortunately it doesn't look like that'll happen this season and there's no way that Aberdeen are so much better than any of the others that they won't drop a lot more points than Celtic against the rest.
  8. My nephew goes to primary school in Dumfries and gets told by the teacher that he shouldn't use any of the slightly peculiar words they use down there. Real shame imo.
  9. What's the deal with them doing a live tv debate? Surely just an opportunity for them to pitch to the entire electorate and not just Labour members. Hopefully it'll backfire on them and the BBC and remind everyone why they're so unelectable at the moment.
  10. Warren had an incredible number of birdie chances for someone who "only" went round in 69. Hopefully the wind gets up between now and his tee time tomorrow and he'll be in an even better position.
  11. Me too. I see the finally showed him putting. It's ok though, we're being shown every "shot" Sir Nick Faldo plays even though he's a +2 irrelevance.
  12. Marc Warren's -4 after 8 holes yet haven't seen or heard a peep about him. Rubbish coverage.
  13. Surely if a Westminster government was mad enough to dissolve the Scottish parliament without a referendum on it then independence would almost automatically follow? Surely?
  14. I'm in. This stuff is braw: http://www.thwaitesbeers.co.uk/beer_brands/bottles/13_guns
  15. Guaranteed they'll sell up. In terms of their publicity and marketing they're following a very similar model to Bruichladdich Distillery, who made a big hoo-ha about being independent, slagging the big boys etc and saying they'd never sell out. All the while maximising the value of the company so that when the big boys flashed the cash they made a mint.
  16. As clarified, it was cybernats rather than a direct mention of the snp but still well out of order.
  17. Did I really hear Andrew marr asking Alastair Campbell this morning if the "abuse" Kennedy received from "snp folk" before and after the election could have contributed? people were describing salmond as "scum" and "despicable" earlier this week - what the hell does that make marr with a question like that?
  18. Funnily enough there was no mention of your bolded bit on the radio scotland news at lunchtime, just emphasis on how the two campaigns spent almost idential amounts. Even broke down the Tory and Labour BT spending and compared it to the "£1.4m" spent on the "the SNP campaign".
  19. Nothing in a general election, or even a Scottish election for that matter, could come close to being another 19th for me. The only thing that could rival that disappointment - and would probably be even worse - would be losing a second referendum.
  20. Getting a result against Ireland is the be all and end all. If a friendly against Qatar helps that then so be it. What would we be saying if there was no friendly, we lose to Ireland and miss out on the Euros? Can't see many fans accepting "we were just doing the best for our ranking" as an excuse surely?
  21. Surely UKIP only exist to try and make the Tories look less extreme?
  22. Another voice to the greyhound shout. We rescued a lurcher who is half greyhound half collie a couple of years ago and she's an angel. We've also got a 5 month old baby but even though the dog was here first she's absolutely brilliant with the wee one and has never even so much as looked suspiciously at her. I'd never get any other kind of dog now as her laziness and friendliness make her a perfect pet.
  23. We've already got the facilities for receiving fuel by boat from the old airbase days so you're spot on.
  24. As I said, I don't expect anyone other than Celtic to win the title. However, they can play like Barcelona in every league game left but they won't pull away by 15 points if Aberdeen keep their form going. And with no other competitions left to play in why should Aberdeen's league form drop?
