  1. As others have said, Devo MAX by definition is home rule. All revenues raised in Scotland (including a geographical share of natural resources) would go to Edinburgh. Scotland would then be obliged to pay Westminster a population share of defence and foreign affair costs. Anything short of this is not Devo Max.
  2. No e-mail despite signing up more than 24 hours ago. Wasn't really expecting one, but maybe there should have been?
  3. I believe salmond has already stated that he'll be standing for re-election as an MSP in 2016. He'll be around for a while yet.
  4. Tried for about an hour to join the SNP last night but their members area kept crashing - presumably due to the large numbers attempting the same. Succeeded this morning though! I promised myself years ago that I would never join a political party, but needs must!
  5. Really can't be bothered with the two upcoming home qualifiers and glad I hadn't ordered tickets for the England friendly. Might not even bother going to the games now, but as I've booked travel I'd be as well to try and enjoy a day or two in the largest city in the north region of GB.
  6. An extract from Robert Peston's blog: 'The big question about the Prime Minister's plan to hand more control over taxes, spending and welfare to the four nations is how far this would end the subsidy of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland by England, and especially by London and the South East. For all that it may sound attractive to the Scots, Welsh and Northern Irish to have greater influence over their respective economic destinies, presumably that would be less desirable if at a stroke they became poorer. The point is that as and when there is an English Parliament for English people - of the sort that the former Tory minister John Redwood has been demanding, and David Cameron seemed to concede today - the financial transfer from England to the rest of the UK may be harder to sustain.'
  7. The SNP vote in 2011 was 45% FPTP and 44% on the list. Identical to the YES vote yesterday. Due the higher turnout about 750k more voted YES than voted SNP in 2011.
  8. All correct! Personally, I am absolutely stunned that the people of North Britain have, in effect, voted for the end of free education.
  9. Yes needed to get circa 55% in Clack. This is going to be humiliating.
  10. The NHS cuts mentioned are in the context of being in the union, not of independence. They will happen in the event of a no vote.
  11. No is definitely still no, yet the MSM are reporting no as something not connected to reality! I was only half paying attention, but Jackie Turd introduced Distorting Scotland with a line similar to 'two days before Scotland decides whether to vote for more devolution or for independence'!!!! WTF?!?!?!?!
  12. ...and the YES page likes has increased at a faster rate - now over 300k.
  13. Talking to a Cypriot at Frankfurt Airport yesterday and he wont be voting. He has his polling card, but is half way through a 2 year work contract in Aberdeen and will be returning home to Cyprus after that and doesn't think it would be right to vote.
