  1. Fit bit had just signed a deal with weight watchers. So if you're aiming to lose weight as well as get fit, the apps tie in together. Other than that I know hee haw about them.
  2. He's just brilliant. So well informed. Gifford is rattled beyond belief.
  3. If your contract is with O2, nip into the nearest shop. They've all got tech advisers, even if you aren't with O2 - the shop in Greenock will help anyone who looks helpless. I'd imagine they all take the same approach. Don't feel daft, we've all had disasters with our mobiles. Usually there's a fix. I'm going to ask - have you tried switching it on? The only reason I ask is my Mum thought hers was deid, we bought her a new one and my brother came in (while I was coming back from the Vodafone shop with the new phone) to tell me that - aye she'd charged it, but it had run so low on battery that Mum hadn't realised she had to power it back up. Silly mistake £70 quid lighter - new phone, she felt a bit daft, but nobody died.....
  4. You can get an insecticide from the vets £20 a can. You will need to vacate the house for 24 hours as it's not pet or human friendly. Clingfilm the top of the goldfish bowl. I'll find the name when I get home. But I am pretty convinced that it's why we weren't bothered as much as our neighbours were. We had to use it as our cat had a mite allergy. It lasts for a year.
  5. Inverclyde Council pest control dealt with one in our shared loft. £40 split between all the neighbours. We agreed to deal with it together as we thought they may cause structural problems if they started on the joists. Guy came out and smoke bombed them. He's coming back next week to check it's dead. Environmental health at the council will give you advice.
  6. I believe that they had 389 resign and 17 join in the last week. From a couple of pms and posts on fb.
  7. That's Mr Betty and I just signed up, emails through confirming payment. I never thought I would see the day either of us would join a political party of any kind, but politics has moved beyond a discussion over a couple of beers in the pub. We don't want decisions made for us anymore, we want to be a part of that decision making process beyond just having a vote.
  8. In the office - and one of my colleagues is doing his level best to wind me up. But I think I am winding him up........ he keeps coming back for another go - I just keep smiling and saying, glad you got the result you were looking for. I did point out that he voted no due to fear, whereas 1.6 million Scots had the foresight to vote YES out of hope and ambition - the look on his face was a bloody picture! Onward and upwards until the next one!
  9. Take a landslide majority and it can be demanded as the will of the Scottish people. He's tried being pleasant about it. Now it's really time for a proper argument. Sit tight, watch this space.
  10. Don't shoot me .... someone shared it to my time line. http://m.scotsman.com/news/politics/top-stories/salmond-we-don-t-need-referendum-for-independence-1-3548270
  11. Wtf is an animal activity chill and chew mat and why would you ever need one?????
  12. It could well have been toed out of the park given the age of it. 4 years is an eternity in politics.
  13. I'm not looking forward to seeing the no voters I know. But equally - they'll not be looking forward to seeing me.....that awkward moment when they try to gloat.... actually thinking about it, I cannot wait!
  14. And now we have Straw advocating for federalism. .... http://scottishindy2014.wordpress.com/2014/09/21/the-straw-that-broke-democracys-back/ It's probably been posted earlier. Apologies if it's duplicated.
  15. They've taken the website off line to add server support. It should be up again by 5 according to twitter.
  16. I'll be joining Monday as soon as I have access to a pc. Mr Betty is on his way to doing the same. I can no longer sit on the sidelines. I did what I felt confident to do this time. Next I'll be better informed of the facts in order to engage with people and firmly answer their questions.
  17. Perhaps the only way to resolve this issue is to make it mandatory to read the available literature before you are afforded a vote. Surely this would weed out those with an IQ lower than a dead ducks blood pressure. I jest of course. .....
  18. I don't wholeheartedly agree with that. I have to say that more people are beginning to sound positive about moving forward. I can only give you my perspective on things. Friday morning was horrific. I was grieving for something I had wished for so badly and really felt that I would never see it. I was so upset I was crying in public. ... I don't do that level of emotion. Saturday was my first day back having a wee look to see how others were coping. And I've found a sense of feeling that we might be down but we are definitely not out. They have to win every time. We only have to win once. We'll find how to facilitate that. There's some really brilliant minds here, their passion, commitment and knowledge is wonderful. But they are battle weary. Take a breath, face the sun and smile.
  19. Absolutely a no. He was sat beside Michelle moan at one of the last debates singing the praises of the onion. He's not even remotely funny.
  20. And there's our strength. More people now are engaged and willing to discuss. I didn't have the confidence to share my thoughts and aspirations until late in the day. I won't be so shy this time.
  21. It's becoming clear that the worm is turning on itself. All Westmonster have succeeded in doing in scrabbling to hold on to Scotland is to empower England to demand parity. And when they fail to deliver it all hell will break loose.
