  1. Why is it that any examination or questioning is classed fishing.Your stats are interesting but also relies upon how you define unionist.
  2. rect me wrong but did the referendum not prove that the majority of Scots are unionist, so why would the media not reflect that
  3. Us...sorry don't you mean the 45% of Scots rather than the majority of Scots.
  4. Labour has every right to ignore the SNP, half the population would support that move. Why pander to a 45% who will never vote labour.
  5. I would hate to think we would have any English people living and working here in Scotland with such a stinking attitude and opinion of his neighbours as irnbruman.Nationalism is just so positive isn't it
  6. At the end of the day everyone knows that TV debates make naff all difference to voting, remember Salmond's bounce in his step after the second ref debate...for me it highlighted the pointless nature of it all. By the way I am voting SNP in the hope of retaining the current uk government.
  7. Sorry you are wrong mate, science is the future. There is too much fossil fuel in the world to force the issue but we will harness energy through fusion and fission. I promise we will look at windmills and solar panels and laugh. Renewables is an obsession. Neutral energy, why. We won't travel the universe in windmills.
  8. Clearly only one side of the Indy debate has managed to move on. Can't help drawing comparisons with the ANC in South Africa. There its race that trumps politics and here its nationalism.
  9. I have actually been really impressed by the body swerving and high brow attempts to ignore the obvious effect that this has had on the indy debate.
  10. Pointless having any debate on this subject, if you don't wet yourself with the prospect of more immigration your a racist.
  11. I think respondents should be clear on if it is the year they hope or the year they expect. There is a big difference! The stickers are fading on lamposts and life has moved on. The reality is 55% voted no and I have never spoken to another no voter who gave two hoots about the vow. The only people I have heard banging on about the vow are the very people who voted yes despite of the vow. I would think another referendum in about 12 years and another no vote and that will be the end for the SNP.
  12. Frozen council tax- This freeze has crippled local government ability to meet the needs of the most needy. Popular with the middle class. Abolished prescription charges- I have no problem paying for prescriptions and this policy has lined the pockets of the drug companies. Needs based is surely the way to go. We have massive over prescription problem in society Abolished tuition fees- Why should a childless working man or woman pay for someone to receive a privileged education. Why shouldn't a student make some contribution to their future, even a token sum payable in the future. The policy has encouraged the non-academic to seek a university education where alternative employment routes such as college or apprentices would be more applicable and beneficial. The contribution aspect would also reduce the number of students completing a BA course in Frank Zappa on the way to a job in McDonalds. I am more than happy for my children to make a contribution to their own career. Protected spending on the NHS- This a devolved matter. Any government could spend every penny it receives on the NHS and would still be spent. This is about good governance and making spending priority decisions. If the SNP can’t do it let someone else try! Increased Doctors, Nurses & Dentists in the NHS- Under the SNP the use of locum staff has increased. The real pressure on the service is at the lower end where auxiliary staff are squeezed with longer hours, poor work conditions and increased availability of a poorly paid foreign workforce pushing rates to the bottom. Increased payments for free personal and nursing care- Good policy but increasingly difficult and costly to retain, a policy luxury that ties future governments Abolished NHS car parking charges- Try getting a parking space near a hospital Expanded free nursery education- Limited hours that in effect makes it impossible for a mother to have any employment that works around the hours provided. Extended free school meals- A small number of pupils with parents earning just outside the income criteria will benefit. Not sure providing free meals to parents above this criteria will be of much benefit as the majority probably prefer a mix of school lunch and pack lunch. The provision ends in the early years and the obesity issue escalates as a child ages Retained free travel for pensioners- Buses full of middle class travellers taking wee shopping trips is a very costly thank you for your years of service! END
  13. Sorry to have an opinion that is different from yours. This board is for tartan army fans, you may not like it but we do have our own minds.I just don't get the post referendum actions of the yes camp. Its total denial and deluded. How many times did Salmond mention 'the settled will of the people during the campaign' I guess he meant the settled will that agrees with independence now.
  14. Truly this is painful to watch, joining political parties like pop groupies or fitba fan clubs. I really don't know what it is all supposed to achieve?
  15. I guess I changed around devolution. I still think its a train journey that may end naturally with independence and I have no problem with that. As an aside the SNP needs to distance itself from the militant left, put Tommy back into the archives.
  16. Not hatred, love for my country. I want the best for Scotland and that means a period of healing. Business and society needs stability.
  17. I know you won't believes this but 20 years ago I remember voting SNP
  18. This country needs a period to heal. The SNP's post election hints at an early re-run has angered all the no voters I have spoken to. If the only way to put an end to this for at least a decade is to undermine the SNP then surely that is what all no voters must do
  19. Well I can tell you now, spread the word tactical voting to get rid of the SNP. I don't care what party I need to vote for.
  20. I think yessers must bin these conspiracy stories. This one is one of the worst, as you read it you can hear the twilight zone music playing. Written by clowns who know nothing about how the system works. So this box went missing...ooh. Replaced by special branch.who then replaced with yes votes..whilst ensuring ballot papers still cross matched with voters...get a life move on, sharpen your pencil for the next one in 10-15 years.
  21. Get a grip. Love your country and you want to put it on hold for another decade. I knew Salmond was lying about once in a generation and team Scotland but I thought the SNP would at least wait a week or two. The only good thing to come from another referendum would be that it would be the final nail in the coffin of the nationalist party.
  22. At the weekend I had genuine sympathy for most yes supporters. However after days of abuse and the inability to accept that you lost and lost heavily you have proven yourself to be one subject zealots. In my opinion the no voters have saved Scotland from this madness surely that was the patriotic thing to do.
