  1. When we bought him I thought we were getting a penalty box poacher. That's obviously part of his game, but the rest of his game is significantly better than I thought it would be.
  2. You're correct about being able to pay the duty and being able to play around with the amounts and substitute spirits for more beer and so on.
  3. Duty free limit is significantly lower than it is for EU countries. You can get a litre of spirits, 1.5 litres of wine, and six small cans of beer. There are fines if you get caught trying to bring in more than the limit.
  4. I'm after one as well. Can collect in Oslo if that makes things easier.
  5. Really solid away performance. I had a few quid on 0-0 as well so that was nice 😀
  6. The Boyd article is the type of drivel I would expect to see from Katie Hopkins. It's clickbait nonsense that is designed to be unnecessarily inflammatory with the sole purpose of winding people up.
  7. This is the bit that gets to me. Any idiot should be able to look at a calendar and make sure that this situation doesn't occur.
  8. I'll be there either via supporters bus or driving through myself. However, lots of other people that have youngish children that have school the next day and so on won't be. If this was played at a reasonable time Hearts could probably take 15-20k as we're doing well at the moment. As things stand we'll take less than 10k. Aside from the disappointment for those that miss out it means that we'll have a cup semi-final being held in a half-empty stadium. The powers that be should be doing all they can to promote the Scottish game. Playing in a half-empty stadium doesn't achieve this.
  9. Woops 😂 It's the same situation the other way round.
  10. Transport options back to Edinburgh assuming the game goes to extra time. So if you miss one train you're screwed.
  11. 5 minutes with Google indicates that none of his work is peer-reviewed and that he habitually misuses the word 'theory'. Additionally, his website has a subforum titled "Paranormal & Supernatural" along with another subforum for discussing "conspiracies of any kind, historical or current". I think it's pretty clear that the man is a crank and that looking into his work is a complete waste of time. Bash on if you enjoy browsing that kind of nonsense but it shouldn't be taken seriously.
  12. I'd speak to a doctor if I was in your position. (S)he'll have encountered this kind of thing many times before so should be able to give good advice or refer you to someone that can help.
  13. Believe it or not but that was accidental. I use that phrase a lot.
  14. It's pointless attempting to use logic. I'd just ignore him. An RIP thread for someone that has achieved something that only 11 other people have done and it turns into another conspiracy thread. Jesus wept.
  15. The bookie odds are the odds that they think will get them the most money as opposed to the actual odds of something happening. They made the odds that large as they wanted fans of teams like Leicester to have a punt on their home team for a bit of fun. Obviously it backfired on this occasion. They don't bother with that with the Scottish leagues as the market is much smaller, therefore, there isn't a big incentive for them to give big odds to entice people to bet. The extra bets obtained by pushing the odds out don't make the increased liability worthwhile.

  17. Natural History Museum is great. I'm not a fan of the rest of it but I don't like cities so that's not surprising. It's nicer than Delhi and Beijing though, both of which are incredibly noisy.
  18. It's been a couple of years since I checked their palm oil policy. In hindsight I should have had another look before posting. It looks like they have cleaned up their act somewhat. However they shouldn't be using it at all if they can't guarantee its sustainability. Additionally, last time I checked sustainable palm oil seemed to be a bit of a myth. Again this is going back a few years so hopefully the situation has changed. A lot of the other companies that sell the same kind of products seem to be pretty dodgy. A lot of the time they don't explicitly state whether or not the product contains it. The packaging just says 'vegetable oil'. It's up to the consumer to guess which type the product contains.
  19. Haven't read the topic so this may have already been covered. A lot of the meat replacement foods are dubious from an environmental point of view. For example, Quorn contains palm oil. The majority of palm oil is grown on what used to be rainforest in countries like Indonesia and Malaysia. As a result you have a product that is sold as being suitable for vegetarians that contains an ingredient that is responsible for destroying the habitats of some of the most critically endangered species on the planet. As far as the mobile phone conversation goes a lot of the minerals are mined in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The civil war there is considered to be the most deadly conflict since WWII. It is financed by money that is made from the mines that produce the metal that ends up in phones, cameras and pretty much every other consumer electronic. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_in_the_Mobile
  20. I made that mistake with one of their videos a year or so ago. Switched it off after two minutes. I'd advise against watching their stuff as it will never leave your head.
  21. Something like that. To be fair, they did have posters up saying it would be a late show and that you could get your money back if you didn't want to wait around. I pinched my parent's car to go to the gig as I knew what was going to happen. Had to pull of the M8 a couple of times so that my incredibly drunk mate could be sick.
