Iceland totally reinvented themselves.

Started with grass roots, playing rolling subs, constant player development and really not caring about results till under 18 level.

Indoor football, summer leagues, players diets from 8 years old.

They also played players that they brought through (mostly) without the need of buying foreign imports. Yes the national league standard maybe is poor but that will improve, any player that really catches the eye is off to Norway, Sweden and Denmark

They have scouts from Italian clubs over every summer, and often a few lads will be signed up at 10/11 - move to Italy etc.

Their league isn't that bad either. It's not great, but they always tend to have one team that does well in Europe. Last year, Stjarnan got to the 3rd round of the UEFA Cup before meeting Inter.

The Faroes seem to be working miracles too. 40K population and they are a decent side. Beaten Greece twice this year, and last night they were better than NI until they had a man sent off.
