GHfaeGTA
Going to New York April for missus's birthday for 5 days. Worth getting New York Pass? Any tips/recommendations? It is Tartan Week and will be joining the Tartan Day parade
deecie
You can queue jump with the pass, which is worth it's weight in gold.
jimstroma
Definitely get the pass. A couple of recommendations are: Top of the Rock Maddison square garden tour Ellies Stardust Diner
AberdeenAngus
Planning on going next year. Will either do March/April time or November - any recommendation as to what would be best ?
TartanTeddy
March/April a lot better than November weather wise and NYC is probably a bit prettier in the spring than late autumn. For PO's New York recommendations, assuming it's a first time visit, I would recommend the Staten Island ferry, Central park, a ball game at either the Yankees or the Mets - tickets probably just going on sale now for the 2015 season so you should get good seats for whatever game is on. For something a little different and not quite so mainstream, I'd recommend Punchdrunks 'Sleep No More' theatre production. Immersive theatre at its best http://sleepnomorenyc.com/#share. Also catching a show - TKTS does major discounts for day of performance productions - generally 50% off. Tickets for a TV recording are often free - have been to the Daily Show a couple of times and really enjoyed that, but probably helps if you know the show. Assuming John Oliver and Colbert are still in NYC. MOMA and PS1 both good for art, as is BAM over in Brooklyn. Weekend flea market in Brooklyn is really nice and Williamsburg in general is a pleasant escape from Manhattan. TT
Fish Gills Mcginty
I went to Sleep No More. it was good, pretty creepy. I was kinda pissed and had some Absinthe before hand. Not sure if that enhanced or dertracted from the thing, but it was cool nonetheless Edited January 3, 2015 by Fish Gills Mcginty

Fish Gills Mcginty
Actually, haven't booked a hotel yet, any recomendations? 4/5 star, good location with plenty pubs round about, something boutiquey/trendy would be cool. was looking at the NoMad, but there doesn't seem to be that much round about. The Mondrian in SoHo fits the bill. Stayed there in March and really liked it.
