Holy fuck...the most mental of mental takes I reckon I've seen on here. SOD was shite at his 'peak' and now isn't even the best aging right back at Motherwell

Scotland v Northern Ireland Match Thread

You're being slightly obtuse on this one...that song is very much an issue for many Scots -
I've absolutely nae time for Rangers and wanted Hibs to beat them yesterday but I'm genuinely bamboozled at how anyone, in the cold light of day and with the benefit of camera replays, can say that wasn't a penalty...for me, its as clean cut as you'll see. The 2nd yellow was harsh but the straight red was just utter stupidity from the Hibs player

You're right, of course you are...people on here have 2 things against him A)he's made some daft decisions and behaved poorly in his personal life B)he hasn't played particularly well when called up previously, when we were absolute junk Our striking options are so grim, that for me, anyone that plays well this season should be in contention
-
Thursday was absolutely honking and that 1st half was nae better...I said it on Thursday that we have some amount of imposters within the squad, but we actually have 4 or 5 of them on the park right now
-
100% this... Whoever the commentator was (Rory something) suggested at half time that Gemmill had a choice to make, try and kill the game off by getting a 3rd or attempt to defend what he had. Credit where its due for goodness sake...he got the result.

Che Adams should be nowhere near this team

Fucking unreal... Shankland scores a goal in the dying minutes, and Ross Stewart gets off the injury table and before we know it we're telling Dykes and Adams to sit in the summer hoose... -
Belgium rode us rotten but we scored 2 lovely goals and they missed umpteen opportunities Best player fir us was wee Barron by a mile...always impresses
-
Anyone who watched that tonight and doesn't think that we should be searching every nook and crannie for eligible players, needs their heads read. Aye we got away with a point, which isn't a disaster but the performance and in particular the drop off from some of regular starters to those that replaced them is stark. As I said further up, you can never have too many good players and right now we clearly have good players that are accompanied by some that are not so good.
-
You can never have enough good players

Aye might as well give him some game time considering he doesn't get a second of it at his Club
-
One of our only strikers plying his trade in a top league shouldn't be discounted on previous poor form or misdemeanours
-
If he's fit...and playing, I'd agree
-
Gunn, Kelly, Clark Robertson, Tierney, Paterson, Hickey Porteous, Hendry, McKenna, Souttar Gilmour, McTominay, McGinn, Ferguson Christie, McGregor, McLean, Doak, Anderson Adams, Dykes, McBurnie That's what I'd pick Craig Gordon will need to get fit, displace Clark and then prove he still has it before I'd even consider naming him. Defence...anything happens to Robertson and Tierney or Hickey would go to left back, nae need to send another full-back like Taylor Midfield...Jacks days are done, while I've never been a fan of Armstrong. I'd prefer to take Doak, as something a bit different ie we have no other real wingers to choose and he would offer something totally different if we needed to change shape. I'd call Anderson up as well...I await the outcry...if he knocks it back to play at the Euros, we can put it to bed for good The 3 forwards are the 3 best available to us...simple

For a man that loves to talk stats...poorly Here are a few; San Marino have won 1 match in their entire history Faroe Islands have won 35 Cyprus have won 76 San Marino are in a different league to the two aforementioned countries altogether.

Arrogant Supporters...

Same could be said fir Scottish media, considering how far up the arses of the Old Firm they are -
0 goals in 16...shite record 1 goal in 10...shite record 1 goal in 5...and it came against San Marino when already 3 up The point is that you're more than happy to call Shankland and Nisbet, based on their dug-shit performances for Scotland but not McBurnie.
-
He scored double figures in the championship last season....more than Jacob Brown and more than Lyndon Dykes
-
Scoring 1 in a friendly...and scoring 1 against San Marino? That's proof...my word.
-
Nisbett has 10 caps and 1 goal...while Shankland has 5 caps and 1 goal. I get that you don't like the idea of McBurnie in the squad but holding these two up as being better, really is stretching it....Davie Clarkson scored against the Czech Republic...but he was also absolutely gash
-
Have you been watching Haalands performances for Norway recently? Stinking the place out would be an apt take on it. As for in alongside Adams and Dykes, if he continues to play reasonably well at a higher level than any other striker we have available to us. Shankland is an SPFL level fitba player, while Nesbitt has only just managed to venture into a decent level.
-
A goal every 3 last season...isn't bad at all
-
Reasonably well...seems to be getting some positive press for his work rate and certain aspects of his game. Who is far better? That we'd be 'axing' to bring him in...I'm saying that he should be considered to be in the squad along with Dykes and Adams Sheffield United went up last season because of McBurnie and his team-mates...I'm pretty certain they could have signed another striker if they felt they could afford one better than him. If he continues to play week in week out against top class defenders this season, he should be considered on his current form and not on 'aye but he was shite 3 years ago, when we were aw shite'
