  1. Suppose he is trying to get as much momentum as possible and so is leaning on his consistent and trustworthy performers to try and arrest the slide they'd been on, I also quite like that somebody in down there is taking their league cup seriously, but aye he's over exerting him and others. I can understand the temptation to keep playing; as you say, his absence will be notable.
  2. Fingers crossed he makes it right enough then. Aye if he makes the weekend he'll be fine so that's what to look for. .. Unless he's unfortunate enough to exacerbate it, I guess. They are welcome to give him a wee rest to ensure he's fresh, though, I'll no complain
  3. Haha not to worry, makes more sense. Too many Scotts. I was sure I'd remember that! Still boggled my mind seeing GMS come on for Scotland at Hampden, having watched him wearing the Diamond.
  4. For sure. Frustrating, given the relative strength of the record when compared to rUK, that Yousaf didn't challenge it forcefully. That being said, it's such a piece of jingling keys nonsense . Haha, aw Nick Robinson, he who killed irony the other day when indignantly taking someone to task for playing fast and loose with the answer someone gave to a question in a video they edited. Must have felt he had a monopoly on it.
  5. If he manages to get back for the weekend should be fine, but already being called a doubt. Unfortunate if he misses out. Been feeling like he'd get a goal for us soon. What a reaction that'd get from the support.
  6. Potentially was that the turnaround time for the documentation, which we were discussing back at the tail end of the last double header, was just too long? Who knows. To be fair, I gather he hasn't been playing much since then so might have stopped them rushing it through?
  7. Attacks on Scots Govt Record went unanswered, which is a first of Yousaf's and secondly of Bruce's; if a Tory or Labour politician criticise the Scottish Health Care system either or both should be making the obvious point of comparing it to england and wales, which it pisses all over. Poor.
  8. Definitely a great display of mental strength and of fortitude to come from behind in both matches. I'm not the quickest to praise the Celtic fans but at parkhead at least they did not turn on their team for going 1 behind early doors. If Scotland lose an early goal we have a bad habit of getting right on top of them, especially lately. But I think Celtic have some leaders in Brown and Lennon that we have lacked a lot of the time. Not Coincidentally, Strachan, when he got Brown back, eventually got his Scotland team able to carry a degree of mental strength and we came from behind in a number of games. But you are also talking about two sets of players used to winning, expecting to win, the fabled winning mentality. Sure, it helps when Lazio gift ye goals not long before halftime and right at the end 9not to mention other chances Celtic should have capitalised on) but the results speak for themselves. Here's hoping we start to see some crossover of that mentality.
  9. I couldn't have been much further off in my predictions, what a pair of results! Superb. Really outstanding from both sides. Now I can go back to hoping they get beat at weekends. So fucking weird wanting them to win every other Thursday.
  10. Mcgregor, Forrest and Christie were excellent last night. Jack also had a good showing, maybe not quite as eye catching as the Celtic three. Four squad members playing important roles in outstanding results has to be heartening. It goes some way, you would hope, in dispelling the idea that these guys only look good in domestic football because of the poverty of opposition. Lazio and Porto. Winning in Rome is especially good. Brown had a great game as well. He'd be so handy for us at the moment. Ce'st la vie.
  11. Aye, exactly. We shall see if it bears fruit in the Spring.
  12. https://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/18021910.kieran-tierney-explains-decision-not-turn-scotland-arsenal-request-omitted-squad/ he admitted he needs time to rest up for the good of his career. He said: "Of course I want to play for my national team but I need to do what is best for my career long term and Scotland understand that. "This was my second game in four days and towards the end I was tiring. "So missing the Scotland games is probably the right decision because it means I am now going into the international break knowing I am getting a rest and recovery. "My load has gone up and up since my operation so to get a rest will be beneficial and hopefully I’ll be ready for the next Scotland camp." Well, seems like we are going to have to take him at his word for now, which is reasonable enough. Hopefully This tactic bears fruit and we can all put away the pitch forks.
  13. Haha typical! As a wing back in a 3-5-2 to be fair, which he suits better than Taylor. And whilst he did struggle defensively at times he was decent in what was a superb result, followed by another superb result, Excellent stuff.
  14. ElChris04 shared an interview from October that included Tierney saying he wanted to make sure he was fit and raring to go for the March games. That passed me by at the time I have to admit, never saw it. It's the only press I have seen him do on this issue ever, really.
  15. Ah, nice one. That's a decent showing, albeit not a win. Stat about rarely ever winning in Italy is likely right, then (the win the following year was at home, eh?) Suppose it isn't surprising. Pretty decent at the auld fitba, are the Italians.
  16. Didn't Strachan get a 0-0 in Milan after 90 mins, only to lose in extra time, in the CL last 16?
  17. Hopefully this is indeed the case. I've been willing to give him the benefit of the doubt thus far, so i'm pleased reading that, even if it is an old interview, as I don't recall seeing it at the time.
  18. It is believed Stoke are negotiating with the Irish FA over how much compensation would have to be paid. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50330200 Wow. He probably should look to get out whilst his stock remains high from 2016 in particular, because with the age of their players and the dearth coming through it looks like it could be a return to grim times in the next 5-10, but you'd think he'd want to hold on for better than the basket case that is Stoke City. Other managers in that league will get punted. He lives in Edinburgh but for some reason I cannae see him taking either of the vacant Edinburgh jobs...
  19. Did he? Christ, how did I miss that? Scott Allan?
  20. Regards the Clarke to Stoke thing- Aberdeen'sDerek McInnes has emerged as one of the leading candidates to take over the vacant manager's post at Stoke City along with Northern Ireland's Michael O'Neill, but Scotland head coach Steve Clarke did not make it on to the English Championship club's final shortlist https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50328737 Hard luck ceudmilefailte
