  1. It's not a must win, because we could draw tonight and beat them in Moscow and still go through.😁
  2. Chripper, Having an opinion is fine, but saying things like 'now that I've seen the team we are going to lose 2-0', is not having an opinion, it's just making yourself sound daft, even before the result.
  3. He should get a full qualifying campaign - that's the minimum anyone deserves. You might not have liked his appointment, but that's done and dusted and can't be changed, so let's give him a fair chance.
  4. When was the last time changing the manager made any difference?
  5. Possible new chant as well; https://discussion.theguardian.com/comment-permalink/121151624

    Nations League

Don't agree with this. Changing the manager every failed campaign doesn't work. Giving them one game is going to be even worse. At this point we should aiming for continuity, including a managed handover.
  7. What are we going to talk about now?
  8. What's the betting we end up with Albania, Bulgaria and Lithuania!

    To stay or go?

That piece in the Guardian is a hatchet job. The players obviously train for various formations including 4-4-2. Apart from anything else we finished the previous game with 2 up front. It's not like it's an alien concept to them all. They are meant to be professionals.
  10. Tommy Wright for Scotland manager. If not, then I'd be happy with McLeish - he's got unfinished business there and I believe he's genuinely passionate about it.
  11. This looks fine, and the starting eleven will be the same as against England, except McArthur instead of Morrison. 6 points needed, got my fingers crossed for the next 2 weeks...

    Team v England

What about Mulgrew? He is listed above (and on the SFA website), but not on the BBC - same with Alan McGregor.

    Team v England

Only 3 keepers listed on the BBC version. No Mulgrew either. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39998863
  14. Well we were in pot 4 so we'd have to out-perform to finish any higher.

    Ive got it!!!!

Maybe it's not the SFA. Maybe it's the grass roots that is the problem, with too much emphasis on winning games. Coaches go on the courses, but then can't implement because of pressure from the parents on the sidelines, so we use the bigger boys, and boot the ball up the park. Plus we don't work hard enough. The players that do make it to the bigger stage are the ones that stay behind after coaching and do extra. But they are in the minority. Everyone at the top level knows what we need to do (they all said it in the last episode of 'Scotlands Game'). The problem is the message is diluted on the way down the chain. Still, I'll be there on Saturday!!
  16. I still enjoy it. Much rather that than Des Clarke hosting some sort of penalty shoot-out thing. Or that time the samba band did a lap of the running track. That was bad. Let's face it if they didn't play loch lomond at half time it would just be 50,000 folk standing around staring at their phones.
  17. Great news. And maybe shows the advantage of taking a longer term view rather than the merry-go-round of managers the men's team have had since Anna Signeul took over the women.
  18. I think it was because the group contained both World Cup finalists and a Quarter finalist. Question is, would we have performed as well in an 'easier' group. Maybe not - seems to be a Scottish trait to rise to the big occasions.
  19. I get your point, but I don't normally drink midweek anyway. Now that's a Saturday night I can't drink because I'll need to to drive. Five thirty kick-off would be magic for me.
  20. 7.45 is a pain in the next if you live in Fife. Last train home is 22.08. Looks like I will end up driving :-(
