I totally agree he should be given time, the SFA should be looking now towards his replacement and give time to thinking about the right man in two/three time. At the moment not even God could do a job with the shite we have to pick from. I have said many times on here before, having followed the lads around the world for well over 50 years...this is the poorest selection of players I have ever known. There is not one World class scottish player currently, Scotland as a footballing nation are not even second rate...we are struggling to be a 3rd tier nation!!

I fully agree..We have to blood the youngsters and give them time to learn & develop at top level. SFA have to accept that the current shite are only going to continue dropping in the rankings and have little if not zero chance of qualifying for anything.

Each to their own..For me the team was stable & progressing as well as could be expected with Strachan, with the players available. Fecking Houdini wouldn't have got us to Russia. The media pressure changing Strach, balls, He had a plan it didnae work & he changed it. Anyways you guys dream on, another ten years another 10 Managers and the discussion will still be the same.

Aye. Unfotunately options are limited, I seem to recall saying last year, when some were thinking of 2nd spot in World cup qual group, that we'd struggle to finish fourth in that group. Looking at the state of Scottish League, take away the non Scots from the league...it would be little better than Junior standard. The SFA have to invest far more in the development of young Scots but I fear that will not happen. The National side will struggle to be in World Top Fifty. Very pessemistic I know but I don't see many encoraging signs, we get too carried away too easily, We beat fecking Albania and everyone was thinking of the Euro's!!! We aint going anywhere full stop.

Fortunately I'm well in to my 60's...my game & that of the National Team past, was based on Us having bigger Balls than most! joking aside, I agree Brown way past his sell by, but my point really is about players who can lead, be influential and have balls to do the job.

I don't recall Scott Brown ever being chosen for his passing! at least he has balls unlike most of those who are currently being selected. Brown is also a leader...something again lacking at present...Then again Third Lanark!!!!

Another meaningless game. I'm not bothered about formations..if we can't field 11 players with the balls to go and beat Albania & Israel in the return fixtures then we really are in trouble. We need the ship steadying and prep for those games. Again I refer to my points re: Mcleish is not capable at this level..Strachan did very well with limited resources & players severely lacking in quality. Unfortunately there are not many options of a Scot for Manager...I am dead against a non Scot Managing (should be illegal for a Manager to be of a foreign nation, in my humble but very patriotic opinion). The SFA should should beg beg & beg again Kenny to come in, give him the resources to build, make sure that Players in Scotland are properly cared for and nurtured. I'm not sure I can blame the SFA for players lacking bollocks but I'll give it some thought.

This is my point, albeit not made clearly, We have a very limited bunch of players therefore they need 1. Manager who is capable of pulling the squad together. 2. Manager who is tactically adept 3. A team that knows the SFA is fully behind them 100%. Do you think for one moment the SFA give a shite about performance, they will still enjoy theor Jolly's regardless. I have followed the Nation Home & Away for near on 60 years and there was always hope...always passion...Today well I think we have seen what level our game is at. Recently the 2nd half v Belgium and pretty much of the Israel game were dire, Oh yeah we murdered Albania at Home didn't we!!!!

The SFA are the main cause of our Great Nation being constantly ridiculed. Go back to the 1954 World Cup when in their great wisdom they sent a squad of 13 players...who were vastly outnumbered by the SFA Officials!!! I'm not a great fan of McLeish, in my opinion he is not capable at the highest level. I've said on here many times, unless King Kenny can be persuaded, Strachan was as good as we could have hoped for. Sure not to everyones liking but undoubtedly had the right credentials. Unfortunately, and lets be brutally honest, we have a complete load of shite to select from at present, I'm not sure Mcleish would show any passion if you blew his bollocks off! The two combined ain't gonna get us very far.

For years the idiots running the SFA haven't had a clue...Strachan might not have been to everyone's liking but he got the best out of a very very ordinary bunch of players..Jesus Fucking Christ couldn't get results with our piss poor performers..We need longevity not with McLeish who really hasnae a clue and certainly isnae an international Manager. i've followed the Nation Home & Away for nearly sixty years and this is the worst I have seen. SFA get outta Hampden for fuck sake for starters...start spending real money on development...get strachan back as he is one of only two real quality Scots who fit the bill (King Kenny being the other). From a 65 Year Old who has seen more than his fair share of Scots failures. The point about Wedding Days, babies etc is they are Lassies business...Football, or more precisely The Sottish National Team, is (or certainly was in my day) far more important than life itself, I've died a thousand times travelling back from heroic failure. But still, if it were a choice between the wife's funeral or a friendly away to Outer Mongolia, no contest...I'd probably hold a minute silence for her (more than she's ever given me mind). The feeling when the 2nd went in was as good as I can remember..moments later..shite. The stupid thing is that even if we had won we still probably wouldn't have qualified, it wouldn't have harmed the Sassies too much either. Life as a Scotsman is cruel...but we always bounce back...Let's look forward to stuffing Malta by the odd goal later in the year.

Yes Yes & Yes...Strachan is as good a manager as we have ever had, technically & tactically...having watched the national side for near on 60 years...the current crop of players is probably the poorest squad ever, Fact. I don't know the answer, traditionally we have always had at least two or three world class players. How many of todays (Brown maybe) players would have got in our 50's - 60's or 70's squads? Our football has been in decline for years. Often the younger squads look promising then....nothing. I console myself with the memories of Dalglish, Jordan, Gemmell, McNeil, Souness, Gilzean, White, Law, Mcstay, Miller, Bremner etc...and oh yes Strachan
