  1. Wednesday according to Glasgowmancity in that fred.
  2. I tend to agree. A UK team would only be a serious possibility if the English FA and fans (i mean the ones who go to games, not the folk who jump on the bandwagon at EC/WC's) wanted it. Which they don't.
  3. I watched the game and you're right, Ireland were very average and didn't really deserve the win. Georgia could have be 2 or 3 nil up at halftime, but the famous Irish jammyness in qualifying (plus a superb goal from a certain A. McGeady) saw them through. The feeling i get over here is that the media aren't fully behind O'Neill, and are a few of bad results away from turning on him. I spoke to Brian Kerr (the former Ireland manager, now pundit) a couple of months ago about the group and , well, his colourful language made it clear he's no fan of O'Neill's! Add in the divisive figure of Keane, and IMO Ireland could implode if they don't get things right.
  4. One of the bands - Isis Farrell... They're worth seeing. Brilliant Syrian trio who sing Irish rebel songs
  5. Any season ticket holders on here that aren't gonna buy more Ireland tickets? I need 2 for pals. Could paypal you the cash or meet you on the day
  6. Stumbled across this video on the c25k forum (i'm now on week 4!). It's a talk from a cardiologist warning about running too much. Seems quite persuasive. Just wondering what the marathon runners on here make of it?
  7. Alan (Citizen) Smart's facebook page has been, well, entertaining shall we say. Lots of historical grievances being brought up and insults thrown around. A lot of the Left are split on the way forward it seems. Some want a Yes Alliance, others like Sheridan want to back the SNP.
  8. Well said Marty. The 'Glasgow only voted Yes coz of the taigs' theory sounds like it was lifted straight from the Vanguard Bears forum FFS.
  9. Just wish i could say it was me that came up with that cracking analogy!
  10. If we're going down the 'wedge' route, would you be in favour of the SNP changing their policy of not voting on exclusively English issues?
  11. The best way i've heard it described is to liken the independence movement to a tide. The tide flows in and out (after the No vote last week it flowed out), but soon it will flow back and reach further up the beach. We'll be battering down the storm wall soon enough.
  12. I'd be surprised if he ever referred to the possibility of a No vote as "settled"
  13. You might be right, fair enough. I wouldn't blame the Ireland fans for scoring such an open goal though. I should have said the England fans a few days after our match. I'm pretty sure they'll take the opportunity of reminding us of the vote!
  14. I feel exactly the same. And when the Irish respond with "You're just a small part of England" i'll welcome it. Let's see how the No voters in our support feel when they sing that.
  15. The Greens need to do as they did in the 2011 election - not stand against the SNP when there's the chance to knock out Labour. Compare the results of the 2007 and 2011 votes in Glasgow Kelvin - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glasgow_Kelvin_%28Scottish_Parliament_constituency%29 The transfer of Green votes to the SNP was vital in Kelvin returning a pro-Yes MSP.
  16. Naw. We'll have another referendum eventually. Might take 15 years though.
  17. Glasgow has always been the real capital of Scotland. Surely we're no just realising that now? A fancy castle does not a capital make!
  18. They don't, polls consistently show that. Scots have just cawed canny. Better the devil you know etc etc...
  19. ....and they'll just laugh at you for being bitter. Remember, in their minds they voted No to ensure those things didn't happen. Let's keep the heid. We'll go again.
  20. Can see where you're coming from, but Quebec will keep them feart.
  21. Any reduction in funding will be in full view of the Scottish electorate. If the barnet formula is scrapped, or whatever mechanism they use to 'punish' Scotland, it will not go unnoticed. IMO the SNP have become the natural party of government for Scotland. The base (i.e. you and me) will be gutted by this referendum result, but the party will continue. I can understand that sentiment, but it would be a massive tactical mistake by the main party of the pro-independence movement.
