I’m not bothered about loans. But the game would be much more interesting if, for example, Celtic had to choose Joe Hart plus EITHER Siegrist or Bain. Would mean another team in the SPFL might get themselves a decent goalkeeper. It’d move good players down through the other clubs. It’d suppress excessive wages, improve smaller clubs, make a more competitive league and provide more opportunities for young players. It’s an absolute no-brainer.

All clubs should be limited to something like 22 senior players used in a season. Would be such a benefit for all except the handful of clubs who spend money just because they can.

That change only applies to three competitive games under age 21. Once a player is 21 it’s the normal rule of one competitive game. Apparently to stop countries from “stockpiling” players. In practice it could mean that Anderson could play for England next year and still switch to Scotland if they stopped picking him. Just for example.

Utd have got so many good youngsters I lose track of the offers they get and had to look it up. Club accepted an offer of £500k from Leicester last Feb but Neilson opted to stay. Think there were more approaches for Kerr Smith before he went to Villa. With Ross Graham emerging I think Neilson maybe wasn’t expecting too much game time next year so has decided to look elsewhere as he apparently wants to be a first pick? He’s quite good, not as good as Smith or Graham.
