  1. As what happened to young Gavi the other night, imagine Barca are not too pleased. I know it was ana accident and could have happened in training but,,,, meaningless match.
  2. Think if Slicker can somehow get into the Ipswich side, injury or poor form by the No 1 keeper (they are second in the championship) then he will replace Clark and/or Kelly. Always looks assured when he is with the under 21s, had a cracking match the other night.
  3. Think they might have Poland and maybe Italy for company in the playoffs. 😵‍💫
  4. At an empty stadium in Belgrade!!! Probably the best thing about the whole COVID thing was the lack of a fairly partisan crowd at that game.

Centre half from Leeds Mullin looks great as does Slicker. Not much going forward in second half.
  6. Amazing really, we have Robertson, Tierney and Hickey but end up praising Kenny McLean for playing left back. Taylor did not have a good night.
  7. Bit disappointing that team, thought Ferguson and maybe Doig might start.
  8. Gordon would be the cream of all of the other players mentioned. Young, played for two big sides and probably the most established in the Newcastle team than the other three. Don't see it though as even if Southgate doesn't rate him then a new manager will come in and its back to square one. Might want to wait to take his chance then.
  9. Funny one this with the lack of stress, when the draw and fixtures were made I really was dreading this one. First time since 1982 we have a "dead rubber" to play when we have already qualified. Remember it well, Portugal away, Paul Sturrock scored in a 2-1 defeat. Of course we have had loads of "dead rubbers" when we were already out so brilliant to be in this position. Cmon Scotland!!
  10. Thought this is what the Oriam was supposed to do? A few people on here sort of suggested that part of Anderson's decision to be "unsure" about his international future stemmed from the training facilities at Lesser Hampden. Shouldn't have played a part in that decision but can see his point.
  11. Nice to see three young Scottish players all under 21 scoring the goals for Dundee United and Dunfermline last night. No idea if any of them will get to international level but good anyway.
  12. Great stuff, wasn't going to watch (Gilmour NOT playing for Brighton) but will now. Really needs a big break out performance sometime soon.
  13. Not sure there are any real alternatives to this squad, Johnston in as cover for right back? Might still happen for second match. Goalkeepers options are given me the heebie jeebbies, would probably go with McCrorie given that the other two are not very good. Might make him think about a transfer loan out of Govan in January, Needs it to get some game time.
  14. Not the worst idea, especially if Lewis Ferguson continues to improve or move to Milan or Juventus. Put Ferguson in and move McTominay to CF. I think McTominay played as a striker as a youth.

Yes, more disappointed with that than the A team in France. No real coherence and thought a few of the Malta boys should much better techniques which is worrying. Thought Barron looked like a cross between Barry Bannan and Billy Bremner and hopefully kick on from there. apart from the goal Bowie did not do very much and thought both full / wing backs did well. As someone says above Lowry has got to choose when he wants to beat 5 players, wont work every time. A win is a win.
  16. Great incentive for some players not currently on the radar. Adding to your list CG, both McCrories, Ramsey at Liverpool, Lowry, Gauld and is there a way back for players like Forrest and Fraser? Also build in "eligibles" like Barnes and Anderson who might want to be included now. Intriguing couple of months coming up.
  17. Funny one that(Got sent off for the U21 the other night),Take it Ralston is way out of the picture now. ( Or O'Donnell 🙂 )
  18. As I understand it, the playoff teams will be either the winners of the NL groups ( A, B and C) or the next best per group Looking at the possible qualification routes and where teams are with 2 or 3 matches to play there could be some cracking play off matches ( thank God not involving Scotland) Could be Croatia – Czech – Italy( still got to play Ukraine away in addition to England tomorrow night) and Netherlands or Poland. Wales look like qualifications through the group or bust as Poland finished above them in NL. In leagues B Ukraine will have a play off place if they do not beat Italy next month. Possible opponents are Israel, difficult to predict that group ATM, if not Iceland will get a reprieve. Bosnia or Finland and Serbia or Norway. In league C only Turkey from the NL winners are likely to qualify directly (maybe Greece but massive match tonight V Netherlands) so looking at possible one of Luxembourg / Greece or Kosovo Kazakhstan and Georgia. That would be the dream draw for us in Germany. Lots to ponder in the next month.
  19. I was just looking for that sketch when I saw you put it on. Thanks!! Shades of the Rugby World Cup.
  20. Amazing you could possible have Netherlands V Italy in a Path A playoff, winner takes all. Don't see Norway there, did they really have a such a bad NL last time?
  21. When that draw was made I really thought we were stuffed again, Spain, strongest third seed team, pretty substantial fourth seed and Cyprus (who were shocking in the group) so to qualify like this is just unbelievable.

Think this is one of those, "in spite of" rather than "because of......"
