  1. The thing with Craig White is that you always felt there would eventually be someone to come along and Bail the Blue noses out. In the era of Fergus he was the last resort and the banks would have been only to happy to pull the plug .
  2. I could never get my head round him getting so much stick ?
  3. Amazing how they can make the CL draw last so long, it is no longer just a draw it is juggling rich teams around so they miss each other. From 2018 season it gets worse when the top 4 from England,Spain, Italy & Germany automatically go straight into the group stages, that basically leaves 16 places for the rest of Europe to fight over !!!
  4. Scotland were a better team with Dalglish & Souness playing in it but thats in the past. Looking at now and to the future it is better to have the young guys playing against high calibre players in Europe. You play against or with better players you will become an improved player , not saying it will improve the national team but it certainly helps to compete when they do come up against international players. I think your problem is that it is Celtic in Europe and not your mob !
  5. Let me try to answer one of the questions as put by one of our country cousins. "How does Celtic playing in Europe benefit the national team" ? For Example - Scotland v Spain at Hampden - Broony - Hello Mr Iniesta and how are you, the weather in the Nou camp was very good last month ? Iniesta - Hello Mr Broony nice to see you again, will you be kicking me tonight ? The morale of the above is this, that you get to know your opponent and he gets to know you, in turn you gain a certain respect for each other and that helps at International level.
  6. So UEFA are doing exactly what they are directing clubs to not do and get involved in political issue's ????
  7. Being "acutely aware" is not the same as seeing and breathing the area, I appreciate that the Israeli's have a right to defend themselves against some factions of Arabs but what they do in the West Bank and into Jordon is beyond defence and they know it. Unfortunately waving a few Palestinian flags at Celtic Park is not going to have any effect on the Israeli government as they ignore attempted intervention from countries with far more power than a football club.
  8. Have you actually been to that area ? - or are you just quoting from books and the television media, I can assure you that what you see on the likes of the BBC & CNN is far from the reality as to what happens at street level.
  9. Very strange these "British people" leaning against an Israeli flag and giving a Nazi salute
  10. I have passion and would want to represent Scotland but would not add anything that would benefit the team !!!
  11. 100% correct Parky , good post. If Uefa want to argue the case , Celtic can tell them that the flags represent all the colours that they play in [ green & white 1st kit Black - 2nd kit pinky/red 3rd kit
  12. Aye he's a right flaky c**t - you can see that the PR people realise what a feck up Joe Hart was to advertise Head & Shoulders and they have now hired Neuer & Casillas to help him out .
  13. stopped buying head & shoulders in case i went into Iceland and dropped something
  14. I travelled on Cathay Pacific 2 or 3 years ago and for some reason got upgraded to first class, they came out with the menu and it read as follows - Starter - highland scallops with a creamy whisky sauce main - Angus fillet steak + veg dessert - Dundee raspberry cheesecake Assorted - Scottish cheese's with a raspberry port Assorted whisky's I asked the hostess, why all the Scottish food ? and she told me they do a thing of foods of the world at various times and the Scottish foods was so popular they had extended it by another week. The raspberry port was really good but i have never seen it again, so its not all bad press around the world.
  15. Scotland Fans [pre - tartan army] at wembley 1979 She wore, she wore , she wore a tartan ribbon she wore a tartan ribbon in the merry month of may and when i asked her why she wore that ribbon she said its for Scotland on the road to wembley
  16. I can still remember the looks on my kids faces when we were there , they were a bit older than yours [8 & 10] but they loved it , you have to hand it to the Americans they are top when it comes to this type of thing. When you go into the park with the countries of the world , there is the UK area that has a pub [the rose and crown] if i remember !! - my boy said lets go in and see if they do fish & chips which they did and were quite good, while in there he was asked if he would like to exchange his football top 4 times by other kids from different parts of the world , he held on to his top and was surprised to find his team was world famous although i had told him that for years. Go have a good time you will not regret it.
  17. I have been to 4 Disney parks , Florida, California, Hong Kong & Paris, the Paris Disney is by far the worst !!! - I would suggest to anyone to save there money and aim for Disney Florida , appreciate it is more expensive in total but the kids will remember that far longer than a trip to Paris Disney.
  18. I do not read to much into that performance, he only signed 12 hours earlier, not played or trained with his new team and had 30 minutes on the park. Will be interested to see where he is at when it comes to October, if he has it in him then he should have proved him self by then.
  19. I think your "has it all to prove" comment is exactly the type of incentive he needs to push on, he is 27 now and if its not now its never. The way to gauge him is when he has to step up from scottish league football to European football.
  20. As per usual the jambo's have kicked there way through a game against Celtic but the reality is this - 1 - The Celtic goal - you can debate about the offside rule !! - in my opinion Armstrong was obstructing the keepers view, so no goal. 2 - hearts "non penalty" - what an embarrassment of a player that Walker is, I think this is the second time that wee diver has done this, should be a red card for his famous backflip 3 - Hearts request for a second penalty - Another embarrassing moment from the Jambo divers club, the guy Muirhead decides to fall over once Torre had decided to sit down and tie his boots , ffs get a life and look at the real picture. So for all the Huns, Plastic Huns and sheep parents who come on here and try to pick at results like this - look at the bigger picture and be honest.
  21. You don't think Tierney is better than what we have ??? - he had an excellent season and i think will step up again during the coming season, he will benefit from Brendan Rogers being at Parkhead and in turn Scotland will benefit. Scotland will also benefit with some of the other young guys at Parkhead as Rogers will them give them game time ahead of some of the second rate imports.
  22. Thats decent of Celtic to bring out a black strip in respect of the old rangers.
  23. The people in England have had enough of conventional politics and hence the vote for Brexit down south, just look at the state of the two main parties - Labour has a leader who has the majority of his own party that wants him out, as for the Tories they have no leader and are the usual bunch of rich boys who are out of touch with the people. The alternatives are zero , the Liberals have disappeared and then you have UKIP a bunch of right wing neanderthal's. The English people have voted to come out of the EU because they are unhappy with there own politicians . In Scotland there is the potential of a new form of politics that can be put in place through independence, not everyone is a nationalist but it allows the people of Scotland to vote on things that matter in Scotland and not have it forced on them by out of touch politicians in westminster. There has been 3 major votes in 2 years - 2014 - Independence - 45% for independence 2015 - general election - 56 out of 59 seats for the SNP 2016 - EU Referendum - 62% vote to stay in the EU It only points to one thing in my view if there was another Indy Vote
  24. Well with answers to your mini poll - 1 - I have only kissed one ass in the EU and that was an Italian bird called Maria on the way to Bari in 2007, as for words like nerdy and cool, i presume you must have some connection to an American dictionary, so well done for integrating with foreign people. 2 - The fans from the 3 countries you mention are just having a good time, maybe just maybe it might be a good idea for your mob to take note, instead of standing on street corners abusing little old ladies and any other nationality that they don't like. I must be honest you do have the best "pavement dancers" in the world but as soon as a couple of Ivan's come round the corner with iron bars they are off breaking world records for sprinting. As for your comment [A second cringe worthy2 poll] - I can see no reason why there should not be another Indy vote , the whole political situation in the UK has changed in the last 2 years. The Bruce did not win the early battles but he won Independence as it was the right thing for Scotland, it is now the right time to be independent again ! "Alba Gu Brath"
