  1. they're both attack minded, and I could imagine they'd get in each other's road. But there's an ideal opportunity to try it out in a couple of weeks vs Netherlands
  2. The way Tierney played last night, Robertson not figuring at Liverpool isn't an issue. Tierney outstanding at LB and should be playing in that position for us. Not sure what to do with Robertson though....
  3. The airport is called Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg is it not?
  4. I would hope (!!!) that the Scotland gig is more appealing that the Faroes.
  5. Lars Olsen - Faroes manager. Their improvement under him is huge. (They very nearly went above us in the rankings not so long ago). Knows the international game etc. Sure we could offer him more money than he's on just now without breaking our own budget. Would be a brave choice, and in all honesty, not one I'd expect them to make, but would be my choice anyway
  6. Don't worry about it - you can be sure we'll find a way of not qualifying
  7. Now I think about - Johnny Russell as well. (strange how he's so far out the picture, especially given he plays in Strachan's favourite division)
  8. Lewis Morgan at St. Mirren would do a far better job that this joker. Phillips is an absolute waste of space - but hey! at least he's tall!
  9. Yeah that's right. I've revised my scenario - In the, admittedly unlikely, scenario of Slovakia failing to beat Malta (that's the unlikely bit) and us drawing in Slovenia, we'd still finish second if my maths is correct. Would we, in that case, be looking at being the 9th placed team?
  10. Aye they would, you're right (maths was never a strong point!) It was always a case of needing to win four out of our last four (three quarters of the way now!)
  11. In the, admittedly unlikely, scenario of Slovakia failing to beat Malta (that's the unlikely bit) and us losing in Slovenia, we'd still finish second if my maths is correct. Would we, in that case, be looking at being the 9th placed team?
  12. If they were to miss out, I wonder if in some quarters, certain aspects of the media and sponsors will begin to suggest that certain countries should automatically qualify. Imagine it were, say, Brazil who were struggling to qualify....
  13. I think you're missing the point. The point is that there is Scotland based fans, flying away from Scotland and thus missing the football tomorrow, yet bizarrely will be in attendance on Sunday. If you're outwith Scotland that's a different set of circumstances isn't it. To emphasise my previous post, seems bonkers logic to me, but each to their own though.
  14. The circumstances are that Scotland are playing at home on Thursday and in Slovenia on Sunday. To miss the home game, to me, seems like bonkers logic. However, each to their own.....
  15. I agree. Ljubljana is there every single day of the year - so why go for the football, yet actually miss the football
  16. Forest Green Rovers' league table position isn't a very good advert for veganism
  17. only my own opinion, but i think Ryanair are gearing up for pulling out of Brexit Britain. They're a huge European outfit, and its interesting that the cancelled flights yesterday are, in the main, UK ones. O'Leary was very much in favour of the Remain vote
  18. I hadn't realised the stadium was a fair bit out the city (55 min walk according to Google maps). Taxis will probably be in high demand too, so I'm most probably going to give it a miss
  19. Nah, the game finishes at 8pm or so will it not? Yeah I'm thinking "red-eye" flight back up on the Monday morning
  20. There's an easyjet flight to Gatwick at 22:00 and one to Stansted at 22:30 after the match. Does anyone with any knowledge of Ljubljana reckon that it would feasable to catch either of these flights??
  21. The guy was a f#**ing arsehole and had the patter of a six year old
  22. Coverage of the women's pole vault is hilarious - it's been nigh on wall to wall coverage for the last hour focusing primarily on the Brit. Now that she's out, and without even a medal at that, pole vault competition is basically sacked by BBC!
  23. Presumably, yes - infants dieing isn't uncommon. What is different here is that there was an avenue of hope which the parents wanted to use. But, as we all know, they were denied and now the little boy has passed away.
