  1. Pretty pleased with the overall result if I'm honest. I'm more pro-indy than SNP and if we get an SNP / Green coalition this might help drop the one party state / dictatorship pish we get in the media. Labour though, wow. I honestly thought they'd hang onto second place but as already mentioned looks like they lost out to their arch rivals, the Tories. Guess the Red Tory mantra isn't as far fetched as some would believe! Surely the only way back is to form an actual Scottish Labour Party and ditch the Branch Office status.
  2. Orkney surprising to see such a swing. Tories and Labour losing their deposits though. Tactical voting perhaps at play? Northern Isles LibDem stronghold remains it's seems
  3. My first vote in Edinburgh Northern & Leith since emigrating from Falkirk West last year and I went SNP on the constituency and hummed and hawed for a bit before going for Green on the list.
  4. I think we need a pro-independence majority, whatever make-up that me be, to ensure we get another referendum and re-form a version of Yes Scotland that isn't as SNP front. I think this was one of the main stumbling blocks in 2014. Campaigning for and regaining independence is too important for politicians to be leading on. A lot of chat on how they won't call another referendum until support hits the 60% mark - makes total sense. But how are they going to raise support to that level?
  5. Could this actually be the serious boot up the erse Labour in Scotland needs to break away from Head Office and become a Scottish party instead of parachuting in a new leader after every election disaster?
  6. Definitely a familiar story - but is the real story not another traditional retail chain failing to keep up with new trends such as online? Personally, I very rarely buy things from shops these days, I'm almost exclusively online shopping.
  7. Seeing lots of conflicting reports on how best to cast your second Holyrood vote if you're an Independence supporter. Obviously all parties are saying to vote for them but given the SNP are pretty much going to clear up the constituency vote, will they get any in on the list? I'd like to see Holyrood filled with as many pro-indy MSPs as possible.Anyone got a no nonsense low-down?
  8. Does this lot, KKK, Westboro Baptist Church etc not count as Religious Extremism ??
  9. Strange... no mention of David Cameron's family involvement in the state Propaganda Machine. They've managed to turn it into another anti-Putin story. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-35918844
  10. Scotland v Netherlands 2003 when we beat them at Hampden. Had been to every home game that campaign and missed out on the surge for the playoffs. Joined the Supporters / Travel Club the next day.
  11. Saw something on Facebook last night that got me thinking. The jist of it was that if the UK left the European Union, we could effectively become the 51st US State, especially if there are 2 loonies such as Boris & Trump in charge. Britain is only slightly further from the US' East Coast than Hawaii is from the West coast. Thoughts?
  12. Last episode broadcast tonight. Awesome. Definite fair play to Channel 4 for taking the risk of a German language series on prime time. As much as I'd like to see more, I hope they don't "Homeland" it and keep it going because it's profitable. However, now need something else to consume my TV time. Suggestions?
  13. For the first time in ages, I've just polished off a bag of Wotsits. Dunno if I'd put them in a roll or piece though.
  14. Just realised (apologies if already mentioned on another thread) that this game is scheduled for what would have been Independence Day. http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2013/nov/24/scottish-independence-day-march
  15. I'm 31 and can relate to every single one of these. http://metro.co.uk/2015/08/16/13-signs-youre-too-old-to-go-clubbing-5341156/
  16. Makes a nice change from career politicians that make up the Government these days. I don't think anyone respects the Daily Mail anyway. It's the new Weekly World News.
