  1. πŸ˜ƒ Exactly. Absolute pish. Ireland can sit back and say aye, keep the ball, youse will do nothing with it and we'll go up the other end and score.
  2. Hahah, might as well, otherwise you would greet. Still time, but absolute pish.
  3. Decent performance and a better team would have put 6 or 7 past them.
  4. Agree, CC. Alot might say we have a better team on paper etc but even then do we? Tierney is our best player imo, McGinn if on form too and Robertson against lesser sides is dangerous eg Armenia game
  5. Yes, Wales are better than us the results don't lie.
  6. Think the Irish had every right to be positive. It felt like Kenny was finally getting them going, and they've done a Scotland by losing a must not lose away. The group could be quite open. You could see us losing there plus Ukraine might be knackered but hugely up for these games! They've got a ton of new fans too after the scelping of us.
  7. That was a honking performance. How defensively bad were we! They could have been 3/4-0 up at half-time. Dykes isn't good enough to do any damage at a WC. Adams whilst decent, isn't the amazing talent we need to make us more dangerous uontop. Robertson, struggles in a team of averagely decent players compared to genuine world class ones he plays with at Liverpool. KT, McGinn are vital players for us, losing Tierney was a huge blow! Ukraine were amazing. Fair fucking dues and I hope they win in Cardiff. PS better go out now than in Wales on Sunday, boak central that. Whilst improving I wonder if that amazing spell beating Austria,Israel and Denmark was the highest we'll see for a while? I hope not, even though NL games I Armenia are hard things to get inspired for after coming that close to our first WC in 24 years! Clarke has improved us, no doubt at all but feck me, he's awfae Scottish! That putting in a bit of work/effort getting so close before failing at the last bit : Nations League : we had that group 'won' thanks to COVID and Czech C team, yet we lost our last two games and missed our on promotion (probably a good thing). Tonight too. But we can't sack him, we are side who will be on the edge of Euro championships or not, and the occasional decent WC campaign but ultimately a game too far from getting there.
  8. True. He'll no doubt do something to win it though if we get to Cardiff
  9. He'll find a way of getting his confidence back and IF we beat Ukraine he'll surely do something to knock us out. As gutted as he is, he's bound to get some stick right now (from Scottish football fans) which will just drive him on. No doubt far too many idiot Rangers fan will be supporting him anyway v us.
  10. Can't support Rangers. Any other Scottish team probably would want them to win.
  11. NI election was fairly interesting. SF the biggest party by 3, they didn't gain any seats, their vote share went up 1%. A nationalist FM (if a government is formed) is a huge historical event in these islands. They seemed to have a pretty sound campaign, focusing on the cost of living crisis and getting Stormont and NI working for all. I believe over 50% female candidates/MLAs too. DUP - vote share down 5% but picked up some key transfers which helped them keep losses to a minimum, I think the new Aontu party's final vote share helped them win a final seat in the Foyle region. No one to blame but themselves really, they might a rick pig's ear of it regarding Brexit in the first place and chickens coming home to them. Alliance - 100% increase in their MLAs. The voting system does help. Once seen as a party for liberal, soft u unionists, they are a genuine cross-community party and they are gaining cross-community votes. They are too Lib Demy for me ; but a few more votes for them in Derry and a few less for the DUP in Carrickfergus is probably a good thing for Northern Ireland in general. UUP - was looking bleak for them, but STV again helped them. TBF, they seem to be trying to offer a pretty progressive unionist message these days. Sadly it seems unionism is going in the other direction, and any liberal unionists left are probably voting for Alliance just as much if not more than UUP. SDLP - they won back the 2 seats lost to SF at the last Westminster election, but a pretty bad election for them. Down to single digit MLAs now losing Nicola Mallon (quite a big name in NI politics and former minster). Losing votes to SF and younger/newer votes who previously might have been SDLP 30 years ago e.g softer nationalists seem to even be going for Alliance in decent numbers. TUV - the Nigel Farage of NI, to the right of the DUP. Hardcore unionists/anti-protocol and got a pretty impressive 7.2% of first votes. They was talk at the start of them getting 2/3 MLAs, but they obviously don't transfer too well so it never worked out. As the DUP took over from the UUP, I think eventually we'll see the TUV as the biggest unionist party in 10-15 years.
  12. Him and Topping who was emptied earlier probably their best chance. Seems likely they'll get 0 councillors which has to be a bit of a minter for them
  13. Alba doing very poorly. How long will they last? Do they even have any councillors yet?
  14. Seeing the Tories scelped across Scotland will never get boring. Seems every party barring the Tories have something to be happy about in Scotland.
  15. 26% turnout was at midday. It'll be somewhere between 65-73%
  16. Likewise. It might be tighter than 10% between them, but I cannot see her getting any more than 47% -at a very push. It might well be like the Brexit vote on a great night for Le Pen (albeit her losing). Find out in an hour and a bit or so, I suppose. Happy to come back and say my instincts are shite in a few hours if she does win.
  17. Well done Killie. Lichties sat back too early, we all would have I suppose ; and even up to about the 70th minute and for having so much of the ball and shots at goal, strangely wasn't that worried about Killie scoring. Then 1-1, and the winner. Better side won, no doubt. Everything about Friday felt like a cup final for Arbroath. There's still at least one more one to come at Gayfield and it'll be be magic, hoaching and hopefully a chance for another one ; but it does feel like that's the end of the road. Been an amazing season though. Last game v Morton, then a couple of games off as the two Thistles battle it out (hopefully Gaston is rested on Friday, and not too injured?). I wouldn't put it past Arbroath getting to the final, but to beat St Johnstone-Mirren over two legs is going to be really hard. Disappointing, but really looking forward to those playoff semi's.
  18. Yes. I seen big burly people from the Borders turning away Macron voters too. Not good.
  19. Great that Rovers are winning! Need them to still be in with a sniff of the playoffs for that last game of the season.
  20. Good to hear. I don't think I could ever say I was a 'fan' - unfair to the actual fans who go week in/out and followed them through a lot of shite ; but I'm a huge Arbroath part-time supporter, and for the last 15 years whenever home tried to fit in a home or close away game, but the last few years have just been tremendous. I'm at a wedding on the 29th, and hoping there will be a screen somewhere (or bring the laptop even). Hear from a pal (proper Lichtie) that they've sold 900 already! Think the biggest away support might have been at Brechin a few years ago to seal promotion (was around 1300) so I'm thinking they'll beat that. Here's to a decent game and McInnes to shite it as he always does πŸ˜ƒin the big games.
  21. Haha, must be tough for a Killie man living in the Ferry and so close to super Rab Douglas right now. Next Friday will be terrific. Kilmarnock still the faves, but hoping McInnes' fame for shiting it in big games comes true again. No team with 9 (hopefully 10 on Friday) defeats should be winning that league. Have a feeling it'll be 1-1 or so, and go to the last game where both teams will draw again. Who knows though, but what a ride. QOTS were honking though and been the worst team in the league over the season, a team full of loanees (some from big clubs in England) and they look hopeless.
  22. MON THE RED LICHTIES! Next Friday will be terrific!
