  1. Mini-Barcelona is a fair description. Has its own, late 1800s Eixample type area, the old city, the modern part where the science museums are etc, and the beach (even if it's not as well connected to the water as BCN).
  2. Have been there with work. It's a nice city, a decent amount of culture, and enough to keep you buys for a couple of days plus generally gets a lot of sunshine for most of the year round. The Mestalla is probably the best stadium in Spain (in my opinion) and well worth going to now that they've given it a little lick of paint. The people maybe aren't as open to tourists as other bigger cities but don't mistaken it for being stand-offish. It's just the way Valencians are - sometimes they look at you like you have two heads just for trying to speak to them in their own language.... I'd say go!
  3. People spend more time looking at cameras and filming concerts than actually enjoying it with their eyes. I've never understood this. If all you want from a gig is to see it on video, stay at home. There'll be 10000 videos of it on Youtube anyway. The worst thing about it is they constantly block the view for other people who are there to actually see the thing. Idiots.
  4. Lot of sh!te. The Swedish versions of the Larsson books are brilliant.
  5. First watched it when I was about 8 or 9. Didn't do me any harm.
  6. Why is it arrogant? If you want to see the greatest hits for the 10000th time buy one of their 50 dvds.
  7. Five pages on an argument over a toilet queue. And counting.
  8. All of this debate over a queue for a toilet...
  9. His link up play is better than anyone else we have, and none of our available strikers are going to be prolific goalscorers at international level. We rely on goals from the wings and midfield (plenty of other teams too), the problems were more there yesterday than in the middle i.m.o

  11. Hope everyone expressing outrage at this has done something to try and help other than moan on the internet. For the cost a few pints the UNHCR can buy a pack containing dry clothing, water, towels etc for example.
  12. Have a look at how many Sweden have taken in proportion to their population and you'll find that yes, it's pretty fecking bad in the U.K.
  13. Thought they were phenomenally good at that gig though. Honestly, I've seen Maiden do their greatest hits 1000 times, so it was great to hear the new stuff (that album was quite proggy too, I liked it). I've seen so many bad bands I think I've lost count. Saw Korn when I was about 12 and they were dreadful. Done me a favour though -- don't think I listened to them again so it at least got the sh!te out of my system.
  14. Celtic playing Malmö at the worst possible moment really. They've finally started to get their act together after underperforming for the first half of the season. Salzburg plus big win v Göteborg will have given them a lot of confidence. Playing the first leg at Parkhead is a killer too. Think if Celtic keep a clean sheet at home they have a strong chance of going through, but otherwise...
  15. Why is it cool to take the p!ss out of her wee boy btw? Just curious? Would never fly with other disabled kids but for some reason people seem to think it's OK to do so in this instance?
  16. You never realise just how many Scots words you use until you live abroad where English isn't the first language. That was the eureka moment, for me.
  17. You're right. Once you drop down below the second division in Spain the change is astounding. That's why so many teams dread going down there - it's notoriously difficult to get back up.
  18. I didn't say anything of the sort (you've just invented that for yourself). It's utter nonsense that he somehow needs to relearn how to play football in England to play for us, that's my point.
