aaid
Go and see the Red Sox at Fenway if they are playing - oldest ball park in the US. Harvard's worth a wander around as well. JFK Library (more of a museum) is worth a look if you're interested in that sort of stuff.
Slide tackle
Went in january with the school for 2 days after a ski trip an loved it, would recommend going up to the top of the presidential building, great views over the entire city and you could easily spend an hour up there, dont know if its around all year but we also went to a place calle quincy market which we all absolutely loved, good shops to go to and is right in the middle of the city near where the founding fathers declared american independance or something like that, was very interesting and is right next to the market. Would alsp recomend taking a walk down the freedom trail especially if the weathers ok

Graham of Montrose
Spent a few days there last year. It is a beautiful city with plenty to see and do. The freedom trail is a walkway through the old part of the city which guides you through all the major sights. Most of the sights have guides in period costume explaining the history of the area. The state house is worth a view, it's like the highest court in the state of Massachusets. Beacon hill area is great for walking around, very "olde worlde", it still has gas lamps on the streets. Then, of course, theres Cheers bar. Well, two of them actually. The original one is a wee pokey hole and quite grubby inside so they made a bigger one in the city centre. Lots of excellent beers to try Well worth a visit.
deecie
Boston is very, VERY cold in January. The Fenway tour is surprisingly decent, as is Harvard. I took the trolley bus between them which was above average. The tour guide I kept getting loved 'Scotchland' as he was 'Scattish'. Was a nice guy, he hugged me when I tipped him with a BOS £5 note. arbroath55
Used to go regularly in a former ( corporate paid for ) life, what sticks in my mind was being 32 and being id`d in almost every bar we went in. Lesson learnt was go drinking with your passport
