It was a bit of a pain getting all the info as we are hiring the campervan. You need its registration and also its VC5 information. There is a 80 euro fine per instance and the low emission zones are quite big in Germany. Once you apply they do an assessment on your vehicle before sending out the sticker- so i wouldn't leave it last minute.
