sultan_of_arabia
Coming from Budapest I have a couple options, 7 hour train the day before or a flight arriving to Nuremberg for 30quid at 9am on the 14th. I have a hotel booked 20km outside Munich and one in Nuremberg at the train station. The latter being much cheaper of course. I have a bus ticket booked from the allianz arena at 11:45 direct to Nuremberg which is also better located for my travel plans the following day. (Event in Prague) Price, time and convenience the flight route is best but I'm already stressing about if anything goes wrong. I still have a 6 hour window the flight could be delayed to get to the game but as a general rule I always try to arrive a day before. Recent exception being the game in Lille where I flew to Charleroi in the morning and made it without issue. Suppose my question is, who is arriving the day of the game? Knowing there are many may help me relax a bit otherwise I will just get the longer more expensive route the day before.

Can't advise you on travel but what are the Hungarians thoughts on our group?

They are confident but there is a lot of politics currently that are pushed by the government here that paints Hungary as a global leader in everything. Rationality is in small supply in many areas of the country. In reality they have one great player, a few decent and at least half a team that wouldn't get into our first choice 11. Szoboszlai will be a threat and potentially a match winning one. He is their Bale, a great player who raises it even further playing for his country. Tbh I'm hoping a first full season in the premiership will dent him by the euros. Like us they miss a striker and they have some absolute guff in their squad. They are well enough organised and motivated overall though. I have watched them a few times when they don't clash with us. No injuries playing to their best I'd personally expect us to beat them but we all know the group and games will be tight.

I worked in Budapest 20 years ago, but am a bit out of touch with the old labdarugas. The Hungarian fans I knew seemed to be struggling to come to terms with the fact their glory years were over. A bit like us TBH 😀
