Thinking of travelling by train to Munich.......

Flights to Munich now very pricey so looking at various ways to get to Munich.

One possible option is to travel from London to Munich by train.

The London to Brussels leg by Eurostar is open for booking now, but it seems the Brussels onward leg cannot be booked until a couple of months before.

Any advice/approx costs on the Brussels to Munich leg welcome before I commit to the Eurostar leg.

Go on Lufthansa site/app. They’ve got one way from Gatwick to Munich on 13th for £99. 11.15 flight to Frankfurt then train to Munich. All in price. My mate got it for him and his son for £75 couple of days ago. Still £75 on 12th

Looking at the trains to Munich on the day of the game But all seem to have a transfer where you change trains ,all of the transfers on the Freiburg route have very short transfer times between trains 6 or 7 minutes . What happens if your first train is late and you miss the connection , can you get the next train or do you need a flexible ticket for that (about  100eu  extra) ?

If you miss your connection due to delays on the first train then you're fine to get the next available train, you don't need a flexible ticket for this.

If you don't want to chance it there's a transfer time option when searching on the Deutsche Bahn website where you can increase the time to connect and it won't give you trains 6 or 7 minutes apart.
