Obviously our second string were never going to trouble a team like the French but all in all I think it was a worthwhile exercise tonight. The only thing that really irritated me was the poverty of our set pieces. Against a top tier side that needs to be on the money. As others have mentioned though, one or two we wanted a look at emerged with some credit. Its still up for debate just how close we can get to these top sides I think, tonight didn’t really tell us anything in that respect. I’ll definitely be hoping we avoid England and France in the draw but any of the rest I’d be reasonably hopeful we can cause problems for.

No criticism of the players or the manager from me for last night. I’m not usually one for bemoaning our luck but thought we were genuinely unfortunate. Two things did annoy me though. Get the pre match folk singers in the bin and leave building the atmosphere to the supporters, they do it better. Also someone please take the microphone off that shouty, baldy bastard Tony Hamilton. He seems to think he’s now part of the pre match and half time entertainment. I don’t want to hear him shouting about paradise windfall tickets, shouting out team lines and telling us to ‘make some noise’. Aye maybe I would if I could hear maself think ya baldy prick! I think a lot of people delay because of money concerns. It’s a tough judgment call and timing is everything but at the end of the day we are all different and what may be right for some may not work for others. This thread has been great as it gives lots of different perspectives 👍

Have really enjoyed the Top Boy/Top Boy Summerhouse series on Netflix. Probably the best thing I’ve watched in a while 👍
