If McGregor not fit then likely McTominay plays midfield and with Hanley suspended, and Gallagher dropped, it’s a surprise Souttar is not in the squad. Likewise with Armstrong injured and Fraser too, surprised someone like Gauld not included.
A few of us going to the Autumn International v South Africa at 1pm on Saturday 13 November and have one spare ticket for the West Stand. Will sell for what I paid. I believe the game is already sold out. Any takers?
Unfortunately I think he will be sold long before he reaches Patterson’s current age. Let’s hope he picks the right club to develop in the right way. He certainly has massive potential. 16 but played like a 25 year old. Also Played Right back against Dundee to become youngest ever United player in a Dundee derby but CB is his best position but not many will play CB at Parkhead at 16 and not look out of place.
Our set pieces are generally shite. Cannot fathom out why Clarke cannot see that Gauld can bring something to this team. The amount of assists from free kicks and corners in recent times alone should get him in the squad.
Apparently release clause in his contract (signed a few months back) with minimum sell on value which increases based on first team games played. If club meets the asking price United obliged to sell if player wants to go. Interest recently from loads of EPL clubs but he wanted to stay and if he’s getting first team games at that age, then seems a good (career) decision.
Didn’t see the game but 5 players 18 or under played a large part of the game. He’s only 16 and started at CH. Chris Mochrie, just turned 18, apparently played very well when he came on. Club has high hopes for him and Kerr Smith
Reported in Dundee papers on social media that he has decided to stay at United at least for one more season and is targeting double figures in first team games this season which would be pretty impressive for a 16 year old centre half. Article suggests that he was wanted by most of the top flight English clubs. Good news for United because the contract he has signed apparently has a minimum sell on clause which increases based on first team games. From the very few games he played at end of last season after just turning 16 he does look to be potentially top class.
I read yesterday that based on a certain rule he cannot be sold again during this transfer window and so he will have to wait until January for any big move
Re Gauld I agree not a good move career wise but apparently £43k per week. Maybe he thinks he is nowhere near Scotland team after being overlooked and might take the big money offer. Unlikely to get another offer like that?
