Loved AJ as a player for us but he had a thankless task from the off with the fans still raging over the dismissal of Shiels. If he'd got it right on the park in the first season attitudes towards him may have warmed but that didn't happen. All the best for the future Allan. Would prefer Gary Holt as mentioned: articulate, thorough and passionate for the club. The fans would give him backing I am sure. Would he want to come while MJ is still exerting his influence over proceedings however? Wouldn't blame him if he ran a mile from the job...

No great surprise. The transfer window lack of activity, AJ's apparent obliviousness to the Muirhead transfer etc. Pretty clear there was 0% chance of him getting an extension to his contract...

Talk o' the deil, came home tonight to the first piece of election bumf from Mr Sheridan. "Together we can keep the Tories out" it says. "Vote for anyone other than Labour and put a smile on his face" (photo of smiling David Cameron). Nary a mention of the SNP on the whole thing...

Although similarly the Greens could put a spanner in the SNP works if there are seats that are a close call (assuming the bulk of Green voters would vote SNP if the there was no Green candidate)...

The Unionist vote will be split 4 ways once UKIP get all their pre-election publicity...

Seen that explanation before and it seems to hold firm in most cases, but it's definitely the other way round when it comes to Paisley!

That's not factoring in the free publicity the MSM gave them...

I expect there will be large swings in some areas, Glasgow in particular. In other parts of Scotland the Labour (or Unionist) vote will hold up better I think...
