  1. ITV news tribute was a disgrace, most of it was about the 1966 final and 1990 semi.
  2. Aye mentioned that to some mates earlier, bizarre coincidence. Literally two days between their deaths.
  3. Fair point re Baresi, another elegant player who made the game look effortless.
  4. Cheers, definitely past the peak, just keeping out of everyone else's road. The couple of years I spent on the continent taught me that the fixation with pulling the decorations down by January 6th is not universally held.
  5. That was great, I fell asleep to Hutch reading me a bedtime story πŸ™‚
  6. Aye one of the first acts of the Scottish parliament after devolution was to repeal Section 28.
  7. Isolating with COVID so I won't need to bother taking the tree down. Have had beer and whisky distributed to me also πŸ‘
  8. Was that the American Minder? πŸ˜„ Sad news RIP David, hard to explain now just how huge Starsky and Hutch was, resulting in his spin off singing success. Remember the scenes of him being mobbed by fans at Heathrow.
  9. If you've got your flights and you've a rough idea where you want to go it might just be worth pre-booking individual train journies. We're doing Dusseldorf to Berlin, Berlin to Stuttgart and Stuttgart to Zurich and it's cost around 60 quid in total. Plus your match tickets will get you travel across quite a wide area for 36 hours around the games.
  10. If you're using an inter-rail pass to get to Germany and back from Scotland, it must be fairly competitive with flying, given the cost of plane tickets to Germany?
  11. And still it rumbles on. Shades of the "Dougie, Dougie" saga from a few years back. There isn't much chat about Sima's handball on Tuesday. I think Killie should request to have Andrew Dallas not do our games...
  12. Plus if we finish third, you'll need to wait until the Wednesday night for confirmation of where we're playing (or if we've qualified at all 😬).
  13. Littler looked unstoppable until the finish line was in sight.
  14. Everyone I know that was at Italia 90 talks about "the underpass". Sounded amazing. Unfortunately I was mid exams at uni so there was no chance to go 🫀 Will need to watch all of Rab C. I'd forgotten Stanley Baxter and John Grieve were in it.
  15. The UK is on the list... The following countries have railway companies that accept the Interrail Pass EURO 2024: Austria, Belgium, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Montenegro, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, TΓΌrkiye Residents or citizens of the following countries can also buy an Interrail Pass EURO 2024: Albania, Andorra, Belarus, Faroe Islands, Gibraltar, Iceland, Kosovo, Liechtenstein, Moldova, Monaco, Russia, San Marino, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Vatican City
  16. I'll be back hame with a hangover. Hopefully that will mean a Scotland ticket is going spare 🀞
  17. Happy New Year to the TA. Looking forward to the 50th anniversary adventure πŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
  18. Forgot to mention that if you book tickets for a group of 3 or more the DB website automatically applies a 20% "Friends Discount" πŸ‘
  19. Got our rail travel sorted. Was considering waiting for the Euro 2024 €30 rail tickets going on sale next month but there were cheaper inter city options now available on the DB website (tickets are put onsale at 2300 UK time, 6 months in advance). Going to Wuppertal to see the Schwebebahn after the Switzerland game, from there to Berlin for a couple of days in the capital. Then on to Stuttgart for Hungary. As we're flying back from Geneva, need to get a train to Zurich and change onto Swiss Rail there. All that came to around 100 quid and about half of that is the Swiss leg.
  20. One of the rare occasions I'm in agreement with Michael Stewart, but I think Hearts would be mad to sell Shankland for a couple of million. His goals could guarantee them European group stage football, without them they'd be in relegation trouble. How much is that worth to them?
  21. St Mirren v Killie still going ahead despite much of Paisley being submerged.
