  1. England are just another team to me. Inflexible traditions are stupid in my opinion.
  2. From what I gather Glasgow University and GCU's residence halls are booked solid. The private landlords have seriously juiced up the prices of the nearby flats to let as well.
  3. especially when there is an U21 game the same week. The U21s do not appear to have any game scheduled. I just don't see them calling in a 26-year-old whom I've never seen linked to the senior first team Clarke's scout watched Hyam (and then teammate Michael Rose) just earlier this year whilst at Coventry. So he has been under consideration - https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/football/football-news/coventry-city-rose-hyam-kane-23014851 If Hyam gets promoted with Blackburn it will be very hard (indeed ridiculous) to ignore a central defender playing Premier League football.
  4. Ross Stewart is injured. Mowbray said he won't be back before December. There will be a few call offs but I highly doubt that will be the squad. Dominic Hyam and Tommy Conway should be up.
  5. I would have preferred a friendly against Brazil or Argentina to living in the past.
  6. Apart from Morelos obviously, who would the other trouble makers be ?
  7. Anyone got the screenshot of the time they mixed up Aberdeen and DUFC's badges ?
  8. Ahem, Griffiths has been involved in unfortunate legal entanglements and morally questionable situations in recent years and still seems to be hanging around with his jakey mates. I suggest that's why managers aren't "picking up the phone" for him. They don't want to be dealing with that nonsense.
  9. Anyone see Leigh Griffiths feeling sorry for himself the other day on the BBC ? "Managers just urnae picking up the phone fir me." - Aye, but have you ever wondered just why that might be Leigh ? The lad never was the brightest. Can't blame managers for finally giving up on him, he brings far too much baggage along with him.
  10. Don't think Ryan Gauld has done himself any favours recently with his childish whining about not being picked the other week and now saying he'll consider playing for Canada when he's eligible. Go ahead and play for Canada then I say.
  11. Why did Roxbrugh/Broon not call up Brewster when he was banging in all those goals in Greece ?
  12. I think he should start (in McGregor's place) against Turkey.
  13. Have heard BBC and Sky journalists and presenters describe St Mirren, Morton, Hamilton and Motherwell as being "Glasgow teams". Also once heard a daft bastard on Sky describe an Aberdeen vs. Hibs match as "a local derby"
  14. Wasn't sure if you meant Scottish non Old Firm players or not. Englishman Michael Higdon has done it at Motherwell. Tommy Coyne has also done whilst at Dundee but of course he played for RoI. But if you meant the most recent Scottish non Old Firm players to score more than twenty five in a season .... Joe Harper of Aberdeen scored thirty three league goals in the 1971/72 season. The late Alan Gordon of Hibs scored twenty seven league goals in the 1972/73 season. Kenny Cameron of Dundee Utd scored twenty six league goals in the 1968/69 season. If any of that is wrong then i am more than happy to see it corrected.
  15. No he didn't. The highest Riordan ever got was during season 2004/05 where he scored twenty goals in the league and twenty three in all competitions.
  16. Can I suggest then that a more constructive activity for you would be to compose a ten thousand word e-mail to the SFA about why you are so shocked and appalled at the lack of an extra poxy friendly. Personally, I'm happy with just the one friendly.
  17. Injury prone players who nonetheless have proven themselves to be posses great talent (which Tierney has done) don't have trouble finding new clubs. He'll have to take a wage cut to some degree but there are a lot of clubs in Europe that would be interested in signing Tierney. Just as long as he doesn't end up on a season long loan back to Celtic. It would be deflating.
  18. Arteta spoke warmly of Tierney only recently and said what a good player he thought he was. It's also worth remembering that he's playing regularly in Europe for them. In any event, there would be no shortage of clubs that would be interested in signing Tierney if Arsenal did decide to move him on.
  19. Funnily enough, Ross Stewart's just might end up moving somewhere for absolutely nothing next summer. His contract is up at the end of this season and there is no sign of him at present singing another with Sunderland.
  20. One friendly was the right choice. Never play more than you have to. It looks like the SFA were also having some difficulty in finding an European (or in this case Eurasian) opponent until they found Turkey.
  21. Do you mean just the league or the league, domestic cups and Europe ?
