Do all Scottish people spend all their money on irn bru, buckfast and square sausage ? I know loads of people that have a horse that run it by sacrificing other stuff. it comes down to what your priorities are, just because its not for you doesn't mean other people cant do something. With the best will in the world if the SPL was a rich as the EPL and one of the smallest clubs in the league had beaten Rangers or Celtic to the title most on here would be posting what a great success story the SPL was ! As for two tier we have that in the EPL at the moment with leicester winning it and spurs comng second long may it continue ! the big boys will spend this summer no doubt but Man u spent £250m last summer and bought mostly shite and will hopefully do so again !

They are worth it because clubs have the money and they are prepared to pay it. You may not like it you may think that they are "khunts" personally i think a lot of hollywood actors are overpaid "khunts" but if someone were to offer you 10m a year I doubt you'd turn it down ! The clubs can afford it becuase there is so much TV money in the EPL. i believe its been posted on here as of next year the club finishing bottom of the EPL get about £100m plus parachute payments just in TV money !!

Why ? the EPL has done a fantastic job of marketing itself and is probably the most socialist of all the top leagues the way it distrubutes cash.. look at La liga where Barca and RM carve up most of the TV money or Germany where it is Bayern and then everyone else. People will pay what someone is worth to them and that is no different to any other job. Good luck to them Hopefully this season wont be a one off and the money sloshing around will enable more "Leicester" seasons rather than watching Man U Chelski or City win the league every year

I have no idea the story implied that whatever he was in hospital recently for was treatable but being a jehovas witness a transfusion was out of the question. I think the hip story was just to illustrate the point. Personally if it was sortable and he refused because of religous beliefs, I respect his decision, but also think he was bloody stupid #!!

According to the papers this morning he was a Jehovas Witness and needed a double hip replacement but surgery was out of the question as a transfusion would be required ! Only the papers, but IF thats true and it couldve been sorted then its really sad ! genuinely struggle with why anyone thinks their deity has an issue with a blood transfusion !!!

I would agree but its how you spend the money that matters. I mean I look at that Man U side and how and where did £250m get spent on that !! Spurs net spend over the past 4 seasons is positive. I get that they had the bale money and wasted about 50% of it but its still quite impressive with what they are doing with young british players and a mix of foreigners. And for the record i expect us to finish 5th ;-)

I agree but that ship sailed a long time ago and there is little or no chance of the current champions league going down to champions only. The greedy feckers (allegedly) AC milan have attempted to get some sort of pass into it on the basis of previous history. Let alone what the 5 who met yesterday were really discussing. The EPL is the most commercially successful league around because compared to the others it is relatively equitable when it comes to the moolah. Personally I think if these 5 teams were really discussing a closed shop league they will be signing their own death warrants. I think they are confusing football fans with american football fans and they will come right unstuck !!

I have no issue with seedings presumably next year if they don't finish fifth my own club Spurs will presumably get a harder draw because of their lack of previous success. Beat the teams you are drawn against simples !!! Shutting the door on the basis you are a "big club" is testicles. and to be fair arsenal have zero success in the champions league and Liverpool havent won a title for 25 years so the term "big club" is subjective. Leicester and spurs in the top 4 (if they do it) should get to have a go against the other "best" clubs in Europe next year

cant see this happening. even with the 5 EPL clubs that met yesterday that the answer to them is very simple. "thankyou very much for your participation in our English premier league please feel free to resign and feck off". We will be promoting the top 5 clubs in the championship this season. and have a nice time finishing mid- to bottom of the league every season with no derby matches. if this happens they need to be thrown out of the English league system and good luck to them !

This isnt funny I live in the south east and I had the devil of a job getting to waitrose last night, and when I did all the organic yak milk and artisan sun dried tomato foccacia was sold out. I had to stop at one of those awful discounters (Sainsburys) on the way home to get milk
