  1. Fiorini was outstanding, had a physical presence that made him look like a man against boys.
  2. That he was player of the year last season for a start? Captain of the unbeaten league winning team? Top assist leader in the league? One of the top goal scorers? Any of those reasons do? Or do you just dislike Rangers so much that you’re incapable of reasoned debate concerning Rangers players?
  3. I watch him every week too. Been difficult to watch much of him over the last few years mind as literally none of his managers have rated him and Ange only started playing him this season because of an emergency that was seeing teenagers starting in the back 4 at the start of the season. Every time I watch him he looks like he’s waiting to make another awful mistake.
  4. James “fucking” Tavernier who has 25 assists and 22 goals in the last season and a half from right back is someone you think is easily droppable? 🥴 Doubt many Scotland players can match those numbers in the same time period if any.
  5. I think he’s a poor player and his stats for a team gaining 70% of the ball in most domestic matches don’t change that. Anyone I speak to in the game feels the same way, he’s sloppy in possession, most of his crosses are aimless smashes that no one can connect with and his 1v1 defending leaves a lot to be desired. I think O’Donnell would have better numbers if he played for this dominant Celtic team. The one thing I’ll give him credit for is his recovery runs and counter pressing but he’s been found out whenever he’s come up against good opposition this season. I’ll be surprised if he’s still starting every week for Celtic at this point next season.
  6. The fact that you don’t even know what the Scottish Premiership is called pretty much destroys any value your opinion should hold on how challenging the level is. The real reason Souttar isn’t in the squad will be because Clarke is incredibly loyal and won’t want to drop any of the CB’s he has in his squad.
  7. Rangers were quoted 5 million for Souttar. I know it’s a tabloid but heard this was accurate at the time. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/rangers-face-john-souttar-competition-14548896.amp So they signed Helander instead.
  8. Rangers have provided a huge amount of players between 17’s to 21’s just now, with probably the best players of all the clubs in Scotland. Id expect a different outlook in 5 years, Gilmour and Patterson are just the start.
  9. So just to clarify you’re saying Rangers developing a generational talent who signed for one of the best teams in the world is a negative? Very good.
  10. Hear this guff all the time. The fact of the matter is Rangers and Celtic can no longer afford the best young Scottish players from Hibs/Hearts/Aberdeen etc because they can command higher fees from English clubs like McKenna etc. This means if you don’t come through the youth system like McGregor/Patterson/Tierney etc then the only home grown players available are ones that are probably earlier in the process than they’d like. The fees are obviously good news for the other clubs and in some cases mean they keep players for longer. To put it into perspective though Rangers were quoted a far lower fee for a Swedish international, Serie-A regular defender in Helander than they were for an at the time constantly injured John Souttar who had never played above Scottish Premiership. Easy to see why they have so few Scottish players now.
  11. I really like Pedro Martinez Losa the woman’s team coach, his track record is outstanding, he develops a possession based, technical style of football and absolutely loves Scotland. Wonder if giving him the 21’s job could be an option at some stage with the positive fit him being the possibility of him being a contender for the senior men’s post one day. Genuinely couldn’t do worse than Gemmill imo.
  12. Thought he looked really lively. interesting to see if we can fit a winger into this system anywhere who can’t play wing-back though. Same point goes for the likes of Scott Wright if an attacking front 3 winger like one of those was to go on a really good run and score/create a lot of goals. The only position open for them is as a second striker or in the hole behind the front 2 imo.
  13. I think he’s the next striker in line tbh beyond Adams, Dykes and Nisbet. If he starts playing championship or above he’s guaranteed a call up imo and the fact that he’s playing in league is probably all that’s holding him back at the minute. Could see Dykes moving to someone like Burnley or Watford and QPR using the money to replace him with Stewart.
  14. Always find the arguments about whether it’s right to call someone up on the grandparent time a bit ridiculous when so many countries regularly fill their squad with players who have qualified through often spurious citizenship rules. Its easy to argue our traditionalism in this regard has held us back at times. 7 of the most recent Portugal squad weren’t born in Portugal for instance.
  15. He was awful because he gave him 45 mins in a rigid 4-4-2 and zero freedom to play. He was awful because Levein only started him and Boyd to throw them under the bus. McFadden has said so himself.
  16. In the game following the 4-6-0 when we played Liechtenstein at home he literally played McFadden and Boyd so that he could throw them under the bus. Must be up there with some of the weirdest/worst man management ever.
  17. The game reminded me of one of the old firm playing Livingston away on an artificial pitch on a horrible night. Credit to the team for pulling through with 3 points which was all that we should care about here. Big shout out to Lyndon Dykes who is one of the more effective Scotland strikers in my lifetime and Nathan Patterson who created the winners against Moldova and the Faroes over the last month in crucial 1-0 wins.
  18. Think out of our potential starting eleven tomorrow it’s only maybe Hanley who won’t have regularly played on artificial surfaces in their career. Worth remembering though too that we had one of our best away performances of the last 5-10 years on an artificial surface in Lithuania. Every youth player coming through now trains and plays on artificial surfaces every week, it definitely changes the way games are played but players won’t make excuses now like they did 20 years ago because kids grow up playing and training on it.
  19. Think this was a nonsense headline in the tabloids. I saw Billy regularly at youth level and I’ve never seen such a good player coming through in Scotland, incredible talent.
  20. Euro 2008 qualifying kit was my favourite. The gold GK kit was a favourite of mine.
  21. He’s a weak link in the Celtic team regardless of how he’s asked to play. He’s poor in possession, can’t deliver, rash at defending and has looked out of his depth any time I’ve seen him. I don’t think he’d start for most top flight teams in Scotland. Calvin Ramsey has a much big future.
  22. He’s awful. He was out of his depth against Dundee United last week never mind Leverkusen, should be nowhere near the squad. Patterson has so much potential and can grow exponentially, Ralston is as good as he’ll ever be too.
  23. Can imagine it’s hard to convince countries to travel or vice versa for friendlies with the quarantine rules.
  24. I thought he was exceptional. Defensively did well and was really composed on the ball, splitting the Celtic lines a number of times with forward passes. Really looking forward to seeing how he develops with games under his belt, he could potentially play 100 league games before he becomes the same age Nathan Patterson is today. Really good potential.
  25. McGregor and Robbie McCrorie’s early careers are nearly identical. Both had SPL loan moves and become serious options at the same age after being involved in the Scotland under 21 set up. The next 2 seasons are key for McCrorie now to see if he can establish himself just as McGregor’s careee comes to an end.
