  1. Yip, some people on here seem to think he doesn't belong at that level, but he's invariably the best player on the park in the big games. The stats would probably show he was again today. Vital clearance that led to the winning goal, slide rule assist and the opener, all against a very good side.
  2. Probably to have a look at the 4 and decide on final 3.
  3. It won't go well with a kilt.
  4. I think this was meant as ball into feet (and head) to link up play. He was unbelievably good at flicking balls on to send the striker clean through.
  5. Rumours on a Rangers forum from a seemingly reliable source that Man Utd want to buy Nathan Patterson.
  6. I would say back to goal then turning and shooting or playing in an inch perfect pass. He was also two footed so could turn either way and shoot just as well with either foot. His football brain was his biggest asset.
  7. I think McCrorie’s best chance would be the right sided centre back in a three. I don’t think it will happen for the Euros, but maybe in the seasons ahead.
  8. Tierney should stay in Spain. Probably his best chance of being ready for the Euros.
  9. A bit like the modern Superman films? Superhero film makers are afraid of primary colours. It’s all dark tones with Man of Steel this and Dark Knight that. It’s fucking Superman and Batman! Sorry, what were we talking about?
  10. The internet was talking about today as “Epstein Distraction Day”, lo and behold lethal explosions in Iran with over 100 dead. Supposedly Epstein worked for Mossad so they had dirt on our politicians and therefore unequivocal support.
  11. The current home one is not too far off the 78 one. Much better than the horrendous Euro 96 effort, for example.
  12. I don’t think it’s too bad. Three months in most cases is what I’m reading, although some tears can take longer. I may be wrong, but it’s not an injury that affects speed or turning per se, like tendons and ligaments, but it is required to absorb the shock of these actions. I’ve had a torn meniscus repaired myself (don’t know if it was the lateral one) but I was never fast and milk turned quicker.
  13. He very much is playing regular EPL games. He’s looking physically stronger than last season, too.
  14. I think he must have grown till about 22 or so. We’ve not seen much of him since. He’s filled out a lot and looks like he could really command his box. Allan McGregor was second choice at 25. I think McCrorie could have a great career provided he gets first team football soon.
  15. Just looking at Robbie McCrorie next to Jack Butland, McCrorie is huge now. Possibly as tall as Butland (who’s 6ft 5 in) and he has also developed a huge frame. He needs to go and get first team football and I’m sure clubs will be interested.
  16. Good to see some support for Patterson. He really seems to get it tight on here and it’s absolutely ridiculous. Because Hickey is good, Patterson must therefore be bad. He’s a young defender playing against some of the best players in the world and he’s doing absolute fine. We’re lucky he’s Scottish.
  17. I guess it depends how much he wants to go to the Euros (all other things being equal). Southgate needs to pick 23 players and there won’t be too many slots available for new caps. Decision time for quite a few players.
  18. I think I’d be asking Harvey Barnes. If we’re going to have a punt on Livramento and Gordon it should be now. Neither will be going to the Euros with England. Also, if we were to have a wing back such as Patterson or Livramento, what are the prospects of Hickey playing as the right sided centre back. i.e. Hickey, Hendry, Tierney? Is that sufficient aerial ability to deal with corners? I think Hickey is tremendous but I’m not sure wingback is optimum for him.
  19. Livramento is a player we need to approach ASAP.
  20. Irrespective of results either way, that Hungary team had some very good players in it and they moved the ball about with ease. That said, in the last 10 minutes or so, after Mebudi came on, we played with a lot more freedom and Hungary were hanging on a bit. Results are very erratic at that level.
  21. I’m not sure how many games Bobb has had for Man City but he was outstanding for Norway and will reap the benefits. No reason we couldn’t do the same with Doak.
  22. Josh Doig could be an option for LCB if Tierney out.
  23. I’d swap Porteous and Hendry around, but otherwise happy with that. That said, McLean, Ferguson and Armstrong have strong claims for a start. Brown also looked good v France.
  24. I think that’s a bit harsh on the players. It was a fairly even game when it was 0-0. When we went 2 up it becomes ones a backs to the wall with the hope of hitting them on the break. It’s not really possible to keep possession effectively when all the players are sitting deep. It was a tactical decision and arguably it worked. Some good defenders in that team, too.
  25. I’m impressed with Cameron from Dundee.
