  1. seems he wasn't up to doing presentations and so on. I'd get Cathro in immediately.
  2. what a lot of shite. Find a new sport.
  3. The fact he wants back to Scotland suggests he won't make it as a top player. Very disappointing, he has the talent and attributes (bar one) to be the complete striker.
  4. it would be great if he formed a partnership with Hanley (if he signs). He's only 20 and appears to be quick and good on the ball. He certainly looked good in Scotland youth sudes, but I didn't see much of him at Kilmarnock.
  5. Anyone who settles for less than second in this group needs to forget about football. It's the negative "we can never do that" attitude that holds Scotland back, including in non-football matters.
  6. I can't understand why they see him in a deeper role. His stand out attributes were threading balls into strikers feet or hitting shots way before the keeper was set.
  7. Ach, he's a good lad. I was worried about some of his patter previously about players being scared, but he clarified those remarks, saying it was about young youth players needing to be brave on the ball. He has a fierce determination for Scotland to produce top top players. We need him.
  8. Good song, lyrics could have been written by a 5 year old or pissed 50 year old.
  9. Normally I would agree, but I think the current Rangers coaching team will be good for player development.
  10. you mean the self loathing?
  11. Yes, if Fletcher gets games and goals it's good news, if uninspiring. He'd have been better at Marseille
  12. Ritchie signs for Newcastle for £12millon. Benitez says "he has great ability and pace". Has he got the right player? Ritchie is one of the slowest international footballers I've ever seen.
  13. 7 goals. Of course he has the ability, don't be daft. His attitude remains to be seen, but on the evidence of last season, he seems to have screwed the nut. He was injured at the tail end of the season and missed a few games including the Scotland friendlies.
  14. Pace, power and ability.
  15. I'm not sure about McCormack and Griffiths. We need to give the opposition a hard time. Fletcher and Watt can push them about a bit. We need to stand up physically to opponents instead of being a nuisance.
  16. Pundits claiming players don't have experience of defending a 4-4-2 and it's proving successful at the Euros. Iceland and Italy had two up at times. I've thought for a while our admiral short passing game was problematic for us. I'm starting to think we need to get it in the final third as quickly as possible and take it from there. It might need a Charlie Adam type to miss out the midfield and into Fletcher's feet, who lays it off to Griffiths or Watt. High tempo and unsubtle but still with a reliance on forwards with a good first touch. What could possibly go wrong?
  17. enough with the negativity, we've got good players.
  18. I read an interview where he said he was right back/centre half. Hopefully he is .
  19. If you don't think we're better why are you so angry with him?
  20. There's not a pitch or bit of spare grass for miles where I used to live. All gone to housing. It's a national disgrace and no other country would tolerate it. Scotland fans should do something about it. One of those Change.org petitions or something. Every village in Europe has a grass pitch (with nets) you could play lawn bowls on.
  21. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/2299901/Dick-Advocaat-Barry-Ferguson-is-top-class.html
  22. I think it's best if they get out early, the only exceptions being the ones that haven't filled out properly. People like to think the SPFL is a physical league, but it's not, you just need a good engine which is a different thing altogether. Players in other top leagues seem to have far greater upper body strength compared with the puny players in our league.
  23. Mark Wotte left because the old boy network wouldn't buy into his ideas.
  24. Pretty sure Naismith failed a pace test so didn't have the option.
