  1. Went to Barras to see Shed 7 and Mark Morris from Bluetones in December 2013, probably one of my favourite ever gigs! If Shed 7 playing again this Xmas time then I will be going.
  2. Went to see Ash in Montrose on Friday, they were magic! Really enjoyed The Amorettes who supported them. Not as good as last time I saw Ash.... Isle of Wight festival, watched their 20 year anniversary gig in a tent and then emerged to watch Pirlo dink his penalty and knock England out of Euro 2012 in front of a very large England support groaning at the big screen.
  3. Gordon scheduled to declare at 5am I believe. http://election.pressassociation.com/Declaration_times/general_by_time.php Anyone know why one of the seats down south is not polling until 27th May?
  4. Agree. I have had at least 6 leaflets through the door for Christine Jardine in Gordon, it's pathetic, moany, negative, SNP bad crap. Last nights was a listing of all Alex Salmond's book signing appearances and saying he doesn't care about Gordon. Not one positive message from Lib Dems.C'mon people of Gordon, please let me wake up to AS as my MP.
  5. Agree. I hadn't really seen or heard much of him before this season but he's an @rse of a man. Seems to love playing the hard man.

    Rankings

A friendly at home against a team like Greece could help us. They are struggling just now and given their form we'd have a good chance against them, but they are still higher than us in rankings. So a win gets us decent points for a friendly and brings our 2015 average up. Could even mean that a draw away to Ireland would still get us into Pot 2.
  7. I thought Fletcher did well, he's not there to attack and the 2 midfielders we played last night won't play on Sunday. I'd imagine Broony will be the only holding type midfielder against Gibraltar with more attacking options on the field, so doubt Fletcher will start. As an aside I have enjoyed Mulgrew in beside Brown in recent games, offers much more than the likes of McArthur who seemed to lose the ball / give it away cheaply an awful lot for a holding type midfielder.
  8. Thats a honking statement. You get a chance of air time on telly or radio to condemn such a horrible incident and thats what he came up with ? What a complete muppet.
  9. I don't agree. Did you see his performance against Saints on New Year's Day? He was completely unplayable, not one Saints player could get near him. His link up play, ball retention and strength are all fantastic and I would be gutted if he was to be dropped, he offers so much to the team, especially since all Pawlett does is run around with no real purpose until tackled or he's ran the ball out of play. Not Goodwilies best performance in the semi but he was hardly alone. Agree that Shankland deserves a chance but I'd be more tempted to play Goodwillie in the hole behind front two and drop Pawlett, well at least I was thinking that until Maclean signed.
  10. Baffling sub fae McInnes putting on Robson for Pawlett. Surely Shaughnessy or another for Pawlett would have been better? Allowing us to push Hayes forward and get back to our attacking 5? Despite the terrible start by Dons it's a missed opportunity for 3 points. Smith did well when he came on.
  11. Any chance of him EVER going past a player and trying to get to the byline or get a cross in? He's got so much pace and acceleration yet he always stops, turns and passes the ball back or inside when he is in a 1vs1 situation. I understand the team is coached to keep the ball as long as possible but he really annoys me for never having a go at opposition full back when he gets the chance. Waste of his best attributes not trying at least once in a while.
  12. Having seen us play so well at home against Saints on New Years day I was shocked with how flat Dons were today. I don't think I could pick one of starting 11 who got pass marks, but it says something good about the team that you can have such a stinker and still find away to score 2 late goals and get a point! Hartley had his team well set up. Harkins does well picking up second balls etc and making things happen whilst the lad on the left in the 2nd half, Stewart or Harris? gave Logan a roasting, couldn't cope with him.
  13. Yeah right....just like the crowd was 15K or thereabouts. There was nothing like 7-8000 seats left empty in the ground.
  14. I always get the impression that none of the stewards at SPFL or Scotland games at Hampden have the first idea about fitba, and they are just following instructions, so maybe not their fault but someone must have given them the instruction to herd the Saints fans into that little section, what a strange thing to do! But why is it always worse as an away fan, home fans rarely get treated as poorly. Made them easier to count though, from the top of the RD stand I counted 14 rows and I think 36 seats, so around the 504 mark - maybe the guy who gave the instruction reads the TAMB and is aware of the fascination with away fan attendances and was just helping us conduct a more accurate count?
  15. My wife was in the Police for 2.5 years before a bad knee injury put we behind a desk and looking for a new career. Her advice to me if stopped for speeding / fixed penalty offence etc that is borderline is to not accept the fixed penalty/on the spot fine, ask them to report it to the Procurator Fiscal and take your chances. There are so many mistakes an officer can make in his/her notebook and the effort required to write up the report and get a conviction is labour intensive. If there are even grammatical errors it can get red penned by the PF and this is another reason my wife followed a new career path, frustration at criminals she had arrested getting off on a technicality before even going to court. Her advice is don't be a pr1ck about it. Just say you don't believe you were doing / had done what they say and you'd like them to report it to the PF. Not a sure thing though and could probably lead to more points and increased fine if it doesn't work out. In the OPs case it sounds as if he's accepted an on the spot fixed penalty which means your goosed and will have to take it on the chin.
  16. This group for us will now be decided by 3 games: Ireland (A) Georgia (A) Poland (H) We get 7 points or better from those then we get 2nd place, 5 or 6 points from those games might even be enough. We should get 6 points from Gibraltar taking us to 20 points and have a free shot at Germany at Hampden with nothing expected. These 3 games are not part of the same double headers; June, September & October....concentrate on these 3 games, other 3 will take care of themselves.
  17. I've got 1 spare ticket, had someone from our group pull out. PM me, can meet outside venue tomorrow.
  18. I know it's selective quoting but that line is pretty funny! Fill in the gaps with what actually caused the man to fall to the ground and require an ambulance! It's almost like a caption competition or spot the ball.
  19. Oh come on! Nice try but you can't be serious. Even if it was his Charity or anyone else's the club is in a much better position than it was which is a cause for celebration for the club and it's fans. Our spending on wages, transfer fees etc is managed well compared to turn over and has been improving for a few years now - the club is being run properly, within it's means as are many Scottish clubs these days. It's the latest fashion in Scottish fitba and long may it continue! 'Armageddon' right enough, clubs lining up to agree a way to be debt free, living within their means, fans having an ever bigger say in how their clubs are run, young Scottish players coming through each clubs youth system and breaking into first teams.....this sensible, sustainble approach may just be catching on and provide the country with a league and national team it can be proud of..... if this is Armageddon then i'm all for it.
  20. My Brother stays in Melbourne (Well Mt Martha down the peninsula). Been over a few times and we've been to see games in the sports bar in the Crown casino, was quite a decent amount of fans, would imagine if you add in for the Ireland game the amount of ex pat Irish as well as Irish and Scottish back packers then you could get a decent crowd and atmosphere in such a place. Not sure if that bar is still there, been a few years since I was last in Melbourne - possibly another option anyway, although not cheap for a beer if memory serves.
  21. Think McInnes has shown too much respect to Accies, he's playing quite a strange team for Dons tonight. Why rush Jack back to play him at Right mid? Taylor is honking!
  22. Hampden Park, 1988, Scotland Vs Chile, Rouse Cup. I was 7. We won 2-0, Murdo McLoed and maybe McStay were the scorers? Suppose I could look it up but can't be ersed. We were in the terrace behind the goal of what is now the East Stand, and I remember it as if we were the only ones in that end of the ground, crowd that night must have been very small. My dad sat me on the metal railings and the goals happened at the other end of the park where the players looked like matchstick people they were so far away. Thats all I remember about that.
