I think that it is sensible to have a high number of police on duty on both days, as irrespective of the result, there will be loads of people celebrating/drowning their sorrows, and it could get a bit tetchy.
Why bother paying attention to exit polls? The actual result will be announced about 5 hours later. I think folk tell exit pollsters what they want to hear, one way or another.
Irrespective of the result, how much damage will have been done by the increasingly hard-core stance taken by folk on both sides? Will they all just shake hands and get on with things, or will there be longer term effects on relationships?
For the record, in our group of 9, there were 3 rangers fans, 3 Celtic fans, and 3 supporters of other teams. No-one mentioned club football the whole time we were over there.
