  1. That is fantastic but surely the most astonishing figure is Lib Dems up 1% - how on earth could that happen?
  2. That blonde woman in the hat and the sticky on black moustache? Was i seeing things? How bizarre.
  3. Murray looking good.....he can win this !!!
  4. Just noticed within a week of McCall resigning that another Manager from the same league has decided that there is sufficient time to be a national team assistant as well and has taken up the job at Northern Ireland (Jimmy Nicholl). Rangers and Cowdenbeath are comparable clubs so no idea why one can do both jobs and the other can't
  5. Last three games have been against : bottom, 2nd bottom...then team in 2nd bottom again...all draws These games involving The Rangers really are crucial to the relegation battle in the Championship. That fairly shuts up those who said The Rangers would not make a big impact in this division.
  6. Maybe because it is winter. These days you will see great pitches in England on TV ...when a club is getting £60m odd per season from tv alone it makes sense to spend that on a few bulbs that can defy the seasons. When the SPFL deal is renewed and even those relegated out of the SPFL receive £99m I think we will see pitches of a higher standard.
  7. Have to agree with that. I have never known a time when the top league in England was just so bland and uninteresting (despite the hype that surrounds this ridiculous race to 4th place) when the increased money comes in it will be even worse.
  8. Murphy was horrendous on GMS this morning......repeatedly ignoring questions and simply talking over the presenter "a vote for the SNP is a vote for Cameron...blah blah"....that he will guaranteee an extra 1000 nurses in scotland if labour get in power at westminster (despite it being devolved and Labour not in power in Scotland) it was quite pleasing to hear how bad he was and I am sure he was pretty close to losing it when questioned further on his own future ambitions
  9. Has he demanded the Qatari's serve alcohol in the stadiums at the 2022 world cup yet? He seems to think that to be the most pressing issue in fitba
  10. aha i did think someone may pick up on that........however, there is always the likelihood of trouble at : Old and Infirm cup finals, a match at which Chelsea get relegated and the Santiago derby (fans were lighting fires in the terracing then throwing burning wooden planks (from seating) at the riot police)
  11. Amongst others: New York Cosmos v Vancouver Whitecaps (1982) Dundee utd v Werder Bremen (1984) Hearts v Bayern Munich (1988) Hearts v Burnley (Texaco Cup) Dunfermline v Falkirk (circa 1988) Airdrie v Falkirk (as above) Hibs v Hearts (1989) Celtic v Rangers (1989 Cup Final....horrible atmosphere) QPR v Chelsea (1988...shocking crowd trouble) chelsea v Middlesborough (play off 2nd leg 1989.....shocking crowd trouble) Hibs v Man Utd (Gordon Rae testimonial...around 1989) Brondby v Copenhagen (post Copenhagen Marathon 1991) Atletico Madrid v Tenerife (post Madrid Marathon 1997) Russia v Cyprus (post moscow Marathon 1996) Bayern v B Dortmund (2000) Bayern v Schalke (2001) Kaiserslautern v Hamburg (2003) Venezia v Crotone (on way to Zagreb 2000) Approx 10 Man Utd games (1987/8) Approx 10 Man City games (1987/8) Oldham v Spurs (1988) Universidad de Chile v Colo Colo (post Santiago marathon 2005...5 red cards, 60,000 fans, terrible violence) Boca Juniors v Crotone (2005) Palmerias v Brasiliense (2005)
  12. Nah 3-3 would be ideal.....happy for Celtic to go through after a grueling 90 mins then leg sapping extra time....pick up a few knocks that keep there better players out of the big one three days later v Dons. Glad the return is competitive. Still cant get over the condescending panel.."Celtic should be beating Inter comfortable......they dont get tested in the SPFL and will win easily by at least 15 points" Have you checked the league table McMamanamanamanam?
  13. The English panel on BT have been a bit condescending about the standard of play (at half time and just at end) Very unfair....unlike the likes of Hull and West Brom Celtic do not get £60m per season to waste on players wages. A very good open game
  14. Suspect that is a gross exaggeration....i recall when the smoking ban came into effect (March 2006?) There was an article in the Evening Express about the auchmill bar closing and the owner blamed closure on the smoking ban. The fact was that the smoking ban came in on a wednesday and the pub closed the next day.....he hadn't even waited to see what weekend trade might be. I believe it was a complete dive and completely empty most of the time anyway so this was a convenient excuse, something to moan about and cover up bad management / not giving customers what they want.
  15. It is quite clear from todays game that Ibrox can easily accommodate 500 people...so why is the EGM not being staged there
  16. what i have never been able to understand is that if it is just a minority singing the vile sectarian nonsense, why the decent Rangers fans don't just drown out the noise with acceptable Rangers songs?
  17. 10-0....I saw the documentary on them and they are pretty useless....really hope they have the same Keeper as they had against Ireland I think we will see the first hat-trick since 1968...maybe even two
  18. I am sure Alba thought he had been hit by a missile from the crowd and decided to milk it....then realised it was the linesmans flag. Very dirty game so far.......some shocking tackles on Messi oh dear....as I write a shocking decision for the penalty..........he ran into him
  19. I recall many occasions where a person would say " the bla........I mean coloured player" as a way of correcting themselves as not to offend. I did not realise coloured was offensive until recently. then again I grew up in an age when we used blackboards in school........banning use of the word black in that context is ridiculous beyond belief
  20. I believe that you are right...it is common knowledge that East Stirlingshire players were paid via EBT's for about 10 years until they were outlawed. One player is understood to have received a loan of almost £65 in 2007/8, this naturally led to unrest in the dressing room as most of the squad were being paid in Luncheon Vouchers and Green Shield Stamps...financial doping goes all the way down the leagues !!!
  21. I played with his Dad in an over 35's league a good few years ago......he was absolutely massive
